Its not like i cant afford it or something, its more like i got no paypal, no creditcard. So i would have to borrow one, which i really dislike in doing...

One of the easiest ways to get around this is to buy a gift card that has a major credit card label on it. They are at most major retail stores. You probably pass by them every day when you buy things. | ||

It's not that easy here in europe, especially not in austria and germany. Credit Cards and everything with that involved is just stupid shit and thats why it's not that popular here. There are things like the visa geldkarte etc but they all involve some stuff that is really sucking money out of you sooner or later. The only viable alternative that is not overly expensive is paysafecard, but thats not always a good option as I heard of many problems with that. Might have changed, but I tried it once and it was not realy successfull. | ||

Even for the local stores I use my Creditcard (I live in germany) The only thing is, you must be 18 to get a Creditcard in germany. So theres nothing special about a Creditcard. With the ticket it is a stand alone product and requires almost zero registration. You don't commit. With the membership, you do allow yourself to get registered and you do commit. How come that it makes the membership seem so much cheaper? I think it's because the value that seems to be given is made up for, from somewhere else. The membership numbers most likely allows or functions as a bargaining tool or provide something tangible to help expand into certain areas. Without trying to not be an idiot. The membership allows Sundance to get money from other places, so that the membership can be cheaper. Keep in mind that I will predict the price to go up next year, since it's also an investment into getting people to join and support. Who will then come back later to watch. (I get my friend to get the HD because he enjoys watching MLG's even though he doesn't have the game. But now he might get the membership because the price is the same, and he will most likely, like he does already, come back on his own because he loves watching.) As well as the additional content MLG is currently putting out in the form of weekly recaps, shows that could justify a different membership price tag. Another point I would like to make in advance is talking about funds. While gold is most definitely relatively cheaper. It does come with an initial barrier. Some people just cannot allow themselves to spent the 30 up front and would rather pay 10 3 times. You see this in payment plans, mortgages etc where paying in installments is preferred. Before you call someone out because inevitably someone will, you can pay 5 for rent each month, but can you pay 60 for a year's worth of rent? It has something to do with that. In addition to the safety of being able to decide to not pay in the future should you want to. And tons of other reasons that hold value I assume. | ||

I agree with what legatus legionis said earlier - once you've signed up, you are more likely to continue your subcription because you develop loyalty to the brand. And personally, I am perfectly fine with becoming loyal to MLG. | ||
