Is there a comparison between HQ and LQ stream? I heard HQ would be better this event. In Columbus, I hardly noticed any difference and stopped bothering to change it to HQ every time the black screen shows up.
I do not really like how HQ stream pass is the same price as silver membership because I don't care about anything besides HQ stream/vods...

Get the Gold then as you save much more money since you are covered for the costs of a year for 40 dollars I believe. Worth it IMHO

When I bought my MLG gold pass a few weeks back, I got the 12 month pass plus 3 free extra months on top of that. So 15 months for $30 was a no-brainer, especially after how awesome MLG Columbus was.

I love that MLG bought ad space on TL.net. It could have been so easy for MLG to put this information in any one of their other announcements. Love that they did this.

The only thing is, you must be 18 to get a Creditcard in germany.
So theres nothing special about a Creditcard. It's just not as common as in many other countries.

I'm curious about this as well but MLG Anaheim HQ Live Stream Passes are sold out anyway (dunno how it's possible to run out of stream passes) so I'm assuming that we're just meant to buy the 3 month membership.

For question 1 see the top of my post. Silver League Membership will include everything a normal Premium Live Stream Ticket/HQ ticket for Anaheim just at a better value by entering a membership program.
For question 2. We are shooting for HD quality on our StarCraft streams for Anaheim. Meaning it should look even better than the jump to HQ everyone experienced for Columbus. On top of the Ad-free and VoD rebroadcasts access.

We had an email that went out to everyone that purchased the 2 event HQ or was owed a Dallas pass. Its possible your email provider rejected it or it went unnoticed in your junk folder.
Good news it was programmed in, where if you go to buy a Gold MLG League Membership from the store you should receive $15 off. Just make sure you do it from the same MLG account your Dallas HQ pass was purchased and before Sunday.

I believe the difference between the ticket and silver is as follows.
With the ticket it is a stand alone product and requires almost zero registration. You don't commit.
With the membership, you do allow yourself to get registered and you do commit.
How come that it makes the membership seem so much cheaper?
I think it's because the value that seems to be given is made up for, from somewhere else.
The membership numbers most likely allows or functions as a bargaining tool or provide something tangible to help expand into certain areas.
Without trying to not be an idiot. The membership allows Sundance to get money from other places, so that the membership can be cheaper.
Keep in mind that I will predict the price to go up next year, since it's also an investment into getting people to join and support. Who will then come back later to watch.
(I get my friend to get the HD because he enjoys watching MLG's even though he doesn't have the game. But now he might get the membership because the price is the same, and he will most likely, like he does already, come back on his own because he loves watching.)
As well as the additional content MLG is currently putting out in the form of weekly recaps, shows that could justify a different membership price tag.
Another point I would like to make in advance is talking about funds.
While gold is most definitely relatively cheaper. It does come with an initial barrier.
Some people just cannot allow themselves to spent the 30 up front and would rather pay 10 3 times. You see this in payment plans, mortgages etc where paying in installments is preferred.
Before you call someone out because inevitably someone will, you can pay 5 for rent each month, but can you pay 60 for a year's worth of rent?
It has something to do with that. In addition to the safety of being able to decide to not pay in the future should you want to. And tons of other reasons that hold value I assume.

I am so getting the gold for this weekend. I will be asleep for big parts of the start of each day but luckilly my daughter wakes up early so everything that's earlier than 3pm and later than 9pm (Anaheim time) I should be able to watch.
Also, thinking of staying up all sunday night. (Only need to stay up until about 5am to watch the finals). Might loose some sleep, but to see a zerg (or Jinro) finally win an MLG again will be totally worth it!

The reason that they get you to buy the silver pass is the auto renewal. People forget to disable it/get lazy etc and they basically get free money. I know i might be a bummer but just a heads up

Nah, it's not that simple and you can usually get a refund if you auto-renew your subscription by mistake. I agree with what legatus legionis said earlier - once you've signed up, you are more likely to continue your subcription because you develop loyalty to the brand. And personally, I am perfectly fine with becoming loyal to MLG.

You should get a code via email today, unless you got a refund or took advantage of the Gold Membership upgrade offer. If you thing you should have gotten an email and did not, send your MLGid and a description of your situation to HQsupport@mlgpro.com and we'll get you right.

I have no Creditcard because i simply dont want to have one. I got no regular income, so, a creditcard isn't the best solution and if i use it 3-4 times a year it just isnt worth it.
Plus all i can find is a paysafe card in my region and its not supported by MLG.
For the Amazon stuff ill simply pay for it when it arrives. I dislike paying in advance.
However, i will just borrow a Creditcard i guess... I dislike it but... whatever.

I have a bank account linked to my Paypal and not a credit card. I was able to buy a Silver subscription just fine.
I know a Gold subscription is cheaper, but I have no problems giving MLG my money.

At least in germany credit cards are really rare... That is ALWAYS an issue here, people are ALWAYS complaining about the need of a credit card @ certain online shops etc, and Germany ALWAYS gets an extra option for lastschrift / direct debit etc.

Would buy it if they made the tournament more interesting. As in removing these seeds that are not based on player skill and gives a huge advantage to some, and removing the extended series which no one likes. Just do it like Dreamhack.

I have capped internet but bought the Silver membership for the sake of ESPORTS or eSports or however the mob wants it capitalized. It'd be nice if this means that I wouldn't get ads with the low-quality stream, but I doubt they would have such a filter and I can't blame MLG for not having something like that in place since I'm sure there aren't many 'members' who will be watching the LQ stream.
After the excellence of Columbus though, I figured I owed them something for the entertainment. Here's hoping Anaheim will be even better!

You're not forced to renew. You can cancel the auto renewal tomorrow and you still get 12 months. If you don't cancel the auto renewal at any point between now and July 30th 2012 you will be charged $30 and get another 12 months.

Certain email providers may bounce the validation email we send for whatever reason. Unfortunately I do not have anyway to personally help when it comes to stuff like this. But I would say your best bet is to try to create another account and use a different email.

I wouldn't recommend buying this for anyone. I bought it to watch the VODs between Naniwa and Huk. The first game doesn't even exist, as it is wrongly named and you just end up with a bunch of guys talking if you try to watch it. The second game exists but there is no way to change quality on the vods, so it is always the lowest possible quality regardless of having payed for it or not. I can't even make out the names with that quality.
On top of that, I tried to cancel the so called subscription which they force upon people but I get an error message when I use their cancel button. The whole thing really feels like a scam and I can't believe Team Liquid actually sponsors this.

Yeah, we have been getting support tickets around this. Certain adblock software will block where your voucher code shows on the membership profile page. Make sure to disable it prior to loading the page. We will see if there is something we can switch on our end to prevent the ad-blocking software from blocking this part for Raleigh.

Cancelling the recurring billing should be easy. Just the single click. That was tested thoroughly, different browsers, multiple people in multiple locations, the whole nine yards. No one had any problems there. It had functioned perfect for everyone. I have yet to hear about it glitching for anyone else either. But at the end of the day computers are strange and mysterious beings. I would try clearing cookies or a different browser and see if that fixes your problem. If not just put a ticket into support and we will cancel it for you (still will receive everything you paid for and the length of your current team).

Can try to help your through this one, but I need you to be more specific about the urls you are at, are you logged in already, and so on.
If you have not already I would try to clear your cookies, disable any ad-blocking or browser software you have running, then go to the site, log-in, and purchase through the store.

Just wanted to say thanks to MLG for giving me a prompt refund when I asked for it. There was no bullshit involved. You realized that you didnt come close to offering the product you advertised and did the right thing. I was pleasantly surprised.
When you guys can figure out how to setup your vods and such I will definitely come back and pay for your events. Right now as it stands though, it's just not worth the money at all.

I asked via mail for a refund pretty much straight after ordering since the vods werent working properly (which is why I order it). Still no reply though, this was one and a half days ago.

I didnt send my request via e-mail. I used their customer support ticket thing. The guy told me next time to use the e-mail lol. Guess he was wrong.

ugh. your awesome web forms kept 404'ing on me when I ordered on Friday... I now have 3 lovely $9.99 recurring charges "pending" on my bank statement.
Not to mention I kept getting the "your voucher is not valid" BS all weekend long that would magically fix itself ~15 minutes later.
The technical quality of the streams was great. Downright astounding. The experience as a paying customer, however, was extremely sub-standard. ZERO of the support tickets I opened over the weekend were answered. ZERO.
did you not have support staff working during the weekend of one of your major events? really?
Fix the ability for paying customers to watch multiple streams at once. Fix your VOD's so they aren't complete spoilers.

Yep, I bought a silver membership but had them cancel it for several issues, not counting that the HD stream simply did not look very good. At best, it was a blurry 480, but could be just me.
