So, I'm teaching English in schools.
How that ends up happening is fairly different depending on the school, ages of the students and their English ability. In Bali I had a regular teacher who made lesson plans and I'd assist with pronunciation and not do much on my own. Here in the village I'm at this week its pretty disorganized and I end up doing things like walking around the village with the students, pointing at a cow in somebodies back yard and saying "Cow!"
At the university I work with a professor who tells me the topic she would like to work on each day, but then I make the lesson plan, homework assignments, etc. I can do that because the uni kids speak enough English that I can talk to them. The young kids do not and the local teacher needs to assist.
I work with a volunteer organization who coordinates with the schools to make sure I've got work, helps with any issues that occur with visas or cultural problems whatever, and who own the house the volunteers live in. I pay them, but the cost is similar to the living expenses I'd incur living here without their support, so its not like they are making bank off the volunteers. They're a non profit.
Or more technically my mother pays them because she decided I was so unfairly fucked over by the Peace Corps that I deserved the opportunity. I love my mother.

I miss that. I miss BW yes. Been playing that with a friend recently. I miss everything about it. The music, the rudimentary controls, the graphics, the terrible pathing, the sounds, everything. Also, I'll check out Legacy when that drops. Also tried out Magic Origins a bit. Going to assume the whole card pool is Magic Origins only? I randomly watched Bisu vs Mind, was pretty fun.
Same here. I haven't watched BW or SC2 in a while, but man seeing those games made me realize how incredibly boring SC2 is to me. I'm gonna try to keep watching whatever BW tournaments exist, since those are pretty cool.

If anybody has any questions or interest about the volunteering or really south/southeast asia in general, I'd be happy to go into detail by the way.

Alright boys when is xmage night At the very least we can all be on to draft/create a sealed pool and save our decks so we can play the games whenever if people are under time constraints rather than using the built in tournament settings
Can we get 8 people?

Yeah. There are lots of organizations for this sort of thing. Some of them are super legit and reasonable, others are bullshit and overcharge you. If you look into it you should compare programs and be pretty careful.
It's usually teaching gradeschool kids. They set up the uni job special for me, but I've got the background and qualifications to actually do the work at that level.

Can we get 8 people? youre talking like you'll show up I will fight whatever pain I need to. We can also choose whatever format of draft/sealed we like btw, but I figure origins is probably the best bet in terms of what the greatest number of us have the greatest exposure to.
So on that note only vote if you're going to play:
Poll: TL Magic: Origins event!Sealed (ORI x6) (5) 71% Draft (ORI x3) (2) 29% 7 total votes Your vote: TL Magic: Origins event! (Vote): Draft (ORI x3) (Vote): Sealed (ORI x6)
