-There was a maneuver that let me bend bullets mid-flight, allowing me to steal kills from the party from another room in the building -There was a reaction that let me fire a shot when the fight starts but before Initiative, so I would sometimes one-shot random encounters The DM thought he would nerf me by putting us in tight quarters all the time but I learned how to make AP rounds for my fuck-off sniper rifle and just killed everything through walls or even buildings, occasionally. Come to think of it I may have broken his campaign a bit. | ||

It's like watching MVP Season Steph Highlight videos, and realizing the highest level of play you'll reach is pickup games at the park/LA Fitness. edit: I don't know much about Shadowrun except I played Hong Kong, and I hear there's a fuckton of dice rolling involved. | ||

Even just convictions causes problems. because people get bullied or are afraid to come out and press charges against powerful or wealthy people, and statute of limitations can be up for that sort of thing. The allegation, with evidence to prove, should be what disqualified folk, not a justice system that favors the wealthy and powerful. I mean look at O'reilly's contract. he wasnt allowed to be fired for sexual harassment BY CONTRACT unless a court ruled him guilty. so any lawsuit with evidence gets settled and he just pays a portion of his salary to his victims and keeps on abusing with no repercussions. | ||

The flipside is a culture where it's seen as acceptable for potentially false allegations to completely end someone's career before they're even allowed to respond. The internet as a construct is very good at witch hunts, and very bad at the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing. There was some drama in the overwatch community recently where a girl publicly accused a guy who works as a team manager of sexual assualt some time in the past, and the resulting shitstorm had him fired from his organisation before he even got to respond. Last I saw, he was pursuing legal action and his lawyers had advised him not to comment online, so not sure how that ended. | ||

There's a pretty huge difference between one isolated incident and numerous allegations that span years coupled with basically the whole industry coming out with "Yeah we knew that was happening and we didn't want to say anything." People do get falsely accused of these things it's true, and that does hurt people. But people doing them and nobody speaking up happens much more often. | ||

This whole "guilty until proven innocent" is absolutely ridiculous. Do you genuinely think that there aren't opportunists trying to capitalise on the situation to make some money? Unless people provide actual proof your allegations shouldn't be taken seriously. If the court is biased you can use the internet so it's not an excuse. Literally "AMA on reddit with proof" and you will get it out there. I guess people might realise why Pence does the whole "no alone time with women" thing xd. | ||
