Price memory, fake hype from 4-abilities planeswalker, mostly. Chandra simply never fell in price (being in performing deck no matter what helped—Marvel played it since it's a wincon, can be hardcasted, autowins vs control if you don't get your Ulamog, etc., then post-ban Mardu vehicles had it in the sideboard when it transformed into Mardu walkers, then Temur Energy, Ramunap Red, and now Temur is the top deck again) from her stupid high preorders from "the other walker with 4 abilities, heir to JTMS."
Liliana is played in Modern and was played by several of the top decks at once, in an otherwise low value set (Collective Brutality took ages to take off, only Emrakul, Grim Flayer, Lily and Spell queller really made waves at the time), she'll always retain some price. Chandra prob doesn't deserve it and price memory is a bitch tho—that and the bans puffed up her demande since people kept switching decks and she was always in the best performing one.
I wasn't talking about prices for that Gahlo, just checking. o/

What do people use for audio, something with a bunch of speakers or a soundbar? My old audio system burned out and I need something new.
|
Soundbars are AWFUL. Go to a Goodwill in a rich neighborhood, they usually have amazing deals on speakers if you do proper research. Two big speakers and s subwoofer and your whole soundsystem is set. I'm running a $440 set that I got for $20 a speaker at Goodwill.

soundbars are okay if they work. seems your sacrificing a lot for convenience. I had one and it wasn't terrible when it actually worked stopped working due to a bad connection I think. That being said the one I bought had a bad port but I assume that's not typical and it was cool while it worked. overall decent but mostly for convenience. I bought it for something where I wasn't using it a ton and was leaving after a few months so worked decent at that. If you're talking a living room or something you're going to use a lot I'd say skip it and invest in something else. If it's like for an airbnb or a bedroom where you just want something something simple then I'd say go for it for the most simplicity. Usually fits in a good position right under the tv.
personally I love the hi fi system I have but dyi'd everything in through the external 3.5mm jack so not sure what the ports they have, I'd go to like best buy just to check, should have them though. To me seems a good compromise between price/ease of use and quality. 3 speakers and a sort of control monitor for like 200 bucks as long as you don't need surround sound or it to go super loud (they do have super high watt ones but I never get mine anywhere near as loud as it can go.)
my models super old but here seems to be the equivalent. I like it a lot but I have it in a smallish bedroom so not sure what the quality is for say a living room. https://www.sony.com/electronics/hi-fi-systems/mhc-ecl99bt.
other thing you could do I suppose is floor speakers and a subwoofer. really depends on what you want and how much money and stuff your going to do. I generally lean towards easy dyi stuff.
if you have the effort to put it in I'd recommend just going full surround sound but that can be a pain if you don't know what you're doing and I'm not sure if you're going to need an additional monitor.
but yeah ghandi's advice seems really good. Most goodwill/thrift stores have huge speakers that are really cheap. just check to see what the port's will be and figure out how you'll hook it up to whatever you're using it with. Don't buy then realize it won't connect and you're going to have to do all these random things to try to get it to work. I've done that a lot and it's awful and infuriating and you get all these weird quirks like to get my roku sound on the monitor I have to switch of the a speakers then back on to them to get it to play for some reason.
hope that helps. The answer as with most things is it really depends on your needs and budget and how much effort your willing to put into thrift storing/ messing with multiple speakers.
I a hundred percent recommend a separate subwoofer if your going to watch any action movies or concerts at all.
anyway sorry if my response was a little long. I've put in my family system basically (well everything but the speakers) love this stuff and have applied to places like Best Buy in the past basically working in that part of the store. (didn't get the job probably because I was leaving in 2 months for college.)

Can someone tldr the Carly Rae jepsen thing? I've neveristened to her music and call me maybe doesn't strike me as abusive pwp cutoff was at 300 so a ton of ppl were incidentially qualified without any effort required (like moi) 160 ppl in the main event but for above reason a ton of casuals like me it was progressively harder to feel like i was breathing oxygen draft is actually also annoying when it's timed picks, other's pool registration then seated deckbuilding like holy shit i dont give a fuck if they see how much better my deck is why does this take an hour.

One guy who went there (a small group regularly goes to nearby GPs and he's amongst the regular day2) calculated that somebody showing up for every single FNM draft and going 2-1 or better each time would qualify for French nationals without any other event, regardless of how strong or weak the local scene is.

Can someone tldr the Carly Rae jepsen thing? I've neveristened to her music and call me maybe doesn't strike me as abusive It doesn't strike anyone as abusive. That's what's so weird to me. Call Me Maybe doesn't have every element, but it has enough in it to count. Language like "now youre in my way" and being totally unsure and unconfident about romance (call me, maybe?), and the music video being about a friend of hers that rejects her for someone else.
Now at first, that sounss like grasping at straws, and doesnt sound like much of anything. I get it. But when you start to dig deeper into her songs, the similarities become too freaky to be an accident. Totally worth a read if you're bored.

its just a cutsie song about a woman liking someone shyly and the music video was a cutsy video about her shyly liking someone but then he's gay as a punchline at the end to make it even more awkward/cutsie

There's a group of teens taking turns zapping each other with a taser at the corner across my apartment. Not sure if I should do something or just laugh...

Call them all pussies, find out whether you're resistant to electric type I consider myself a pretty down to earth type of guy but I dont think that'd make me classify as ground type.
edit: as tempting as it was to try my luck with the zapping it's now too late, a huge bloke went down and told them to sod off.

People are welcome to debate the article if they've read all of it. But it's kind of long, and I realize most people won't find this as fascinating as I do, so...
