I was 7 or 8. I picked it up round 95 or 96 ^^. But that being said, I found it on my own, given me at that age, on the off chance it was my parents involved I unno if I'd of been as big into it :D

First time I ever heard about Magic was 17 years old, and first card games I coulda been exposed to was Pokemon, but it came out in '99 for us iirc, was already over 10 at that point!
... woulda been a good time to acquire some duals tho. Or my little brother would have stolen and traded them in the courtyard like he did with some Pokemon cards.
Dodged a seminary in Lisbonne by telling my boss I wouldn't be available for the departure from Paris next sunday. On one hand that's an experience to miss, on the other I'm kinda stressed atm and I (more than) half just don't want to have to deal with how that dumb body of mine would deal with it.
Just the prospect of a ~40 minutes drive by night to come back from whatever I'll be doing instead is making me question it'll be handled, so...

I knew how to play, but nobody ever wanted to play by the rules.
I play mtg on and off from at latest 3rd grade until the end of Return to Ravnica, or whatever the block was called. Love the game, but can't get myself to play it anymore.

Its kinda fuzzy for me but I'm pretty sure I started playing before 4th edition came out. Too late to snag any of the real juicy limited edition goodies.
Last set I remember drafting somewhat would be... Judgment. Did onslaught, mirrodin and ravnica blocks once or twice with my brothers.

4th edition when it was the fad in my school for a couple months, and while I got into it to be 'cool', everybody else moved on pretty quickly and nobody actually cared about the game itself so I moved on with them.
Overpower cards were the next fad. Anyone remember those? :D

Started during beta. Looking back the way we valued cards was hilarious. Big creatures and stuff like Royal Assassin were worth a lot, Fastbond more than Moxen and Lotus, Duals were barely worth anything (only reason I got all of them was because I thought Tropical and Volcanic Island looked cool and wanted to complete the collection for the hell of it) and card advantage was a foreign concept - got my Ancestral Recall for a Shivan Dragon lol

edit: I started right when first Ravnica set dropped. My first legendary was Grand Arbiter Augustin. God that card was fun to build around as a kid.
