Well they moved the entire dev department up to the new floor so it wasn't just me. But still. All the desks are smaller and the walls are shorter so there's like no privacy or space for my shit. And the new chairs are suck. | ||

That seems to be the trend, they renovated a floor here and it sounds like that exact situation. I was fortunately relocated to a older large high-walled cube though :D | ||

My girlfriend is looking for a new laptop. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a laptop? Not apple, screw that company. And she does not like Asus at all. I have some ideas (like basic specs of at least 8gb ram, most likely i5 processor, but i7 would be better) but I'm not exactly up to date on the laptop market lol. Additionally, we're hoping to keep it under $500. | ||

I'm not sure how it scales on laptops, but there's no need for an i7 on a desktop unless somebody is a youtuber or something. 8g of RAM should work, considering most mobile cards dump onboard memory and make system ram deal with it. | ||

i5 vs i7 debate has changed it's worth it to get an i7 for gaming now. RAM speed and using 2 instead of one is also worth it on desktops. You might be able to find a refurbished one for around 500 if you are lucky. | ||

Right now she has a lot of lag issues in both league and overwatch due to her laptop not being that great at handling the games. She does not want a desktop. | ||

Playing games with pricing hurts everyone long term. Bleh. Just lost a routine copy but slightly larger job that we could have made money on because we didn't want to tell the customer it was cheaper now because we, and our suppliers, have lower markups. We lost it by the exact numbers our sales guy said to mark up extra because we had to look consistent. Apparently telling people you managed to make the same product for less looks bad... worse than just looking uncompetitive. Stupid. | ||

Probably everything except the monitor/case. Off the top, any recommendations? I usually go midrange/lower end on my builds to save in costs and things tend to last really nicely for me, it's just at the end of life I can't play anything really high end (not that I usually do anyway. Would be nice to have graphics on in OW though) | ||
