The idea (as I've understood it) is based on several socio-economical changes though, which lead into a less consumption based society (the middle partys main theme is equality and an environmental-friendly agenda, as reflected by their name, and that they traditionally have two heads of the party).
- We humans need to do less, can in larger and larger part be replaced by machines. - With less incentive to work because you have to, you can spend more time on things around you, like caring better for your house on your own, or caring for your children or elderly. - You can work with what you love. - Because low-paid jobs (at least over here) are often ones which are required (nurses, teachers, janitors and so on), the salary for those jobs would increase, since no-one would be forced to do them and possibly get trapped in the lower class. - Finance would come from for example state pension, and other socialist benefits we already have that kinda covers the same thing.
Some quite interesting ideas, I'm personally not yet quite sold on all of them, or that it won't lead to state-wide apathy...

Same over here, but the precedent that exists has been pretty good. In general, when you give people money free to spend they spend it on useful stuff. IE treat people like people and they act like people back. I'm still skeptical, but not as much as before.

TLDR; grad school sucks unless you reaaally enjoy your work.
I walked away with my masters because I was like "I can't imagine doing this for another 2-3 years and not trying to off myself."
I don't really regret it.

I think universal basic income is the next stage of human evolution. It will allow us to shift the paradigm of existing in society from competition towards cooperation, radically increase the standard of goods and services (because most of the people working on them will do so not out of necessity but out of enjoyment) and create of variety of economically unproductive yet meaningful and fulfilling ways of living, something we seem to be increasingly lacking under turbo capitalism.

You can and should! So I'm not alone Because it's really fun!
The Battleforce for any army it's available for is a pretty reasonable expenditure and generally has good units in it. The Necron one, for instance, just needed me to get an HQ unit and I was set to play.

Just another plug, Gunna be on Turn 2 again tonight with Artosis, LS, and eK0p. Not sure what were talking about yet, but I'm sure it'll be something Hearthstone related.

I think I would enjoy teaching math. I don't know why I feel that way, I hate people and children/teenagers as much or more than most. I almost went to school for teaching. This was before I realized how much I hate people and how bad of a teacher I am. A ex-colleague of mine was annoyed by the HR practices in the field, and would have liked to reconvert into it. However he's like 50 and 5 years studies are expensive, so instead he struck a deal this summer and just started as a teacher/researcher. Not quite the same, and he's got a fuckton of work (esp. over the summer) since it's his first year doing so, but he likes teaching and helping people, so while he's still doing comp. science for his researchs, he's got that human factor he wanted, without losing his income.

No you're still sitting in a convention center with 3000 other people, you just don't have to handwrite because there are 6 essays of 500-1000 words each
(that's only part of one day, too)
