COME AT ME SHOWER LOVERS Showers are better for cleaning yourself but baths are the best to just relax in. Don't really get the debate. I do wonder what a Japenese style bathroom would be like. You got pseudo shower to clean then bath to soak in. Best of both worlds? I know many people that prefer showers and dislike baths entirely, I prefer baths for all aspects, washing and relaxing. Nothing beats a good bubble bath. I've never met a woman that doesn't love baths for some reason. I'm pretty much always shower kind of guy but I have been known to do a long bubble bath in the past. People really missing out choosing one over the other. The worst is when the bath water starts getting cold though
I highly recommend sentou and onsen in Japan (particularly Kyoto). I spent half of my year abroad soaking in hot water with some friends. It's the fucking greatest. Also awesome: jumping between the scalding hot tub and a freezing cold one. It's incredible. And then there are the scented baths... damn.
Other fun Japan bath trivia: one sentou I frequented had a "denki ofuro" translated as "Electric Bath" where they ran a SLIGHT current through the water for a messaging effect. Ain't no bath like one where you can't control your muscle spasms!

That sounds ridiculously amazing. Do you speak Japanese yourself?

I still need to install Heroes. I got the beta quite some time ago but I've never got around to installing it.
Too busy playing EA games to do so, I guess.
I've actually been playing Command and Conquer 3 though...

I've heard over and over that baths don't get you as clean as showers, but not sure if I believe that. I feel like the main advantage of a shower in terms of efficiency is that its faster and potentially uses less water, but aren't they about the same otherwise?

From what I've read and seen cultures that primarily bath don't actually use the bathtub as a means of cleaning more so than rinsing off. So I don't know how good actually sitting in a bathtub and cleaning is. It's not as efficient at least.

I think I critically failed my investigation check.
Also, is there anyone here that prefers 3.5th edition of D&D over 5th edition? I'm more into 5th edition myself, but my friend remains convinced that true loyalists prefer 3.5 over 5th edition.

It's really tiny, you have to look hard.

Some people like more detailed rules and (extremely) broken spellcasters.
It'll always be preference in the end. So you just have to argue the right points.

I use 3.5 for the sake of familiarity, but honestly if someone wanted to learn a system from scratch, there's very little reason to use stock 3.5 over Pathfinder. There's actually a lot of design mistakes that WotC admitted to making with 3E/early 3.5E that you kinda need to use homebrew/splatbooks to cover, while Pathfinder/4E/5E took many of them to heart (e.g. designing base classes with dead levels).
3.5E and 5E have a very different sense of scale, so they're actually really hard to compare directly. The kinds of campaigns 3.5E is actually good for aren't really possible in 5E, and the kinds of campaigns that run well in 5E aren't all that good in 3.5.

Dead levels?
I posted an Iron Maiden (and the SA set I guess) song that I got from the doters' GD, Frudgey, the other 45 minutes video was Numy I think. And I haven't had a bath since, uh... maybe 7 years? Basically since I left my parents' for studies and only came home on the week-ends. Maybe I did baths during the holidays though, but I don't remember. Wouldn't be easy for washing my long hair anyway.

Well, with my new granted TL+ powers I just saw that Soniv has contributed to 398 pages worth of posts in this thread.
Pretty sure that puts him at #1.
