That's what makes me most apprehensive about Overwatch. I'm sure they'll get all the superficial game design aspects right, but at a core level, I simply can't expect Blizzard to get everything right the first time through when they've never made a competitive FPS before.
When you say competitive fps, are you talking about it in regards to esports? Or are you talking about in comparison to other fps's?
Comparison to other FPS's, I should have made that clearer. "Competitive" was probably not the right word choice.
Yeah, I was gunna say. I don't think any of the successful esports games have ever been created for competition.
I don't think the formula for Blizzard is that hard though, just follow steps from other companies. Unless their designers ego's are too big to bother copying the smart moves Valve has done.

It'd be minimal commitment, as session by session we'd just figure out when we can get the most people and go, no need to go out of your way or clear extra time on your schedule, if you can't make a session it doesn't matter.
yango? moonbear? you guys interested?
I mean my commitment ability is terrible but I'd like to do it

Yeah i'll make a thread tomorrow with details and stuff for peeps to check out and learn about the system and the framework of the world i have planned. anyone willing to play with the group can make a character and try to join whenever they have free time that week.

I'll likely make a character for the world, but chances are I will be as absent as Asmo (which is fine, I have no issues being an NPC)

Q3A? That's the only one I can think of though so that pretty much helps make your point when the list is that short/non-existent.

Also a fixed FoV(at such a low value) is literally a game killer for me if Overwatch indeed keeps it that way. There's a 0% chance I touch the game unless that changes.

My goal is to do character creation 'together', in the thread for the campaign. since character creation is like multiple choice for a bunch of stuff, no dice rolls, and then a series of questions from GM to players, seems best to get the group an then over the next week make the characters in thread, with the mechanic part going fast and the questions being developed over the week, "how did you join the guild and why" that kind of stuff, so people can build off each other if they want and establish bonds(which help get xp based on relationships between PCs). first step being picking class/name/stats/looks/race. second step: how did you join the guild and why, third step: a follow up question. fourth step: bonds.
should be pretty streamlined even done in thread rather than in person. provided I actually read the thread and update regularly, which i Absolutely plan to do.
I'm interested in the dungeon world thing too, I'm reading some kind of html online version of it now. If it's on Saturdays I might be able to be a regular, I'll have to see once I'm settled in Missouri.

I will say though that I prefer to have bathes, however.
Thanks Alaric for posting the music. It really helps me get work done when listening to stuff like that.

Showers are better for cleaning yourself but baths are the best to just relax in. Don't really get the debate. I do wonder what a Japenese style bathroom would be like. You got pseudo shower to clean then bath to soak in. Best of both worlds?

I know many people that prefer showers and dislike baths entirely, I prefer baths for all aspects, washing and relaxing.

Nothing beats a good bubble bath.
I've never met a woman that doesn't love baths for some reason. I'm pretty much always shower kind of guy but I have been known to do a long bubble bath in the past. People really missing out choosing one over the other. The worst is when the bath water starts getting cold though
