I'm catching up on the Apple event today and DAMN the new macbook looks sweet. 2lbs, functional and good enough for word processing/web browsing. It's literally 80+% battey by volume lol.

They market clean, easy to use products - that's why they sell. Now, I'm no real apple fan, in fact I'm incredibly happy to be off of iPhone at this point, but their products are generally solid and they know how to make money off of their target market.

Didn't the newest release of iPhones have people bending them by hand? I mean, I'm not a hater, but I definitely don't think the quality matches the adoration for their products. I dislike Alienware for the same kind of thing, but I definitely agree that there's good business models in place that keep them at or near the top of the market year after year.

Yeah. They are grossly overpriced if you're in the know but the serve the audience they market to well enough.

Dude the iphone 6 bending shit is hilarious.

You have to really kind of mishandle it or purposefully try to bend it for it to bend, but they do bend and it's funny as fuck, mostly because when people first realized it Apple was like "THEY DO NOT BEND YOU CANT BEND THEM" till people started making videos of them going to apple stores, bending the display models, then getting the staff in the store to say they dont bend.

I think it depends on what you want the Apple product for. I think they have their uses, and for certain people they're great.

That being said, I think Macs are extremely overpriced for what they offer.

I think a suitable comparison is similar to how people who don't really know anything in depth when they buy a product are paying more for "high end" items that upon further in-depth knowledge you come to find out are overpriced in comparison or not as high end as they really are. You're paying for brand name, and Apple's just happens to be pretty hefty.

new mac books have pcie flash memory ssds right? faster than any ssd's us "PC gamerz" have, its just obscene the price to power ratio they can sell computers at with the premium coming from the looks. anyone who cares about money to power ratios will cringe buying a mac. get a tablet instead.

I think its very similar to clothes when it comes to tech. Apple is sexy. Their products are decent etc. (this includes size) you can get better specs for cheaper but it looks worse.

I cant sympathies with the price. the core M is a pretty lame dual core processor that really under performs compared to the haswells and its integrated graphics and small storage with no HDD capability at all. Who the fuck needs a 1440p display on 12" and why would anyone pay for this glorified substandard tablet with a keyboard attached for twice the price.
