i mean thats why they negotiated for those clauses in the contract. marvel was fine with it. its not like they tricked marvel's lawyers or anything underhanded. they are just using the rights they have contractually. its not like marvel wanted to buy out the rest of the contract, they were being cheap about it too, they wanted to try to get the rights back for free. It's not like if marvel really was so caring about consumers they couldn't drop bank to get the rights back for spiderman in avengers.
arguing that a group of writers butchered something in the comic book world is laughable. because every comic book character has been in some shit comics over time. most of them become footnotes.
