I am getting a more and more a feeling in helplessness. I see more and more things that I know to little about and it comes from learning about it. The more I know the less I understand. I wish to exert my effort in to my profession (Cooking) while still maintaining a semi normal lifestyle. The more I learn the more hopeless this seems. The effort needed to become what I wish seems so far away. I have been totally immersed in my work before and it takes its toll on everything. Friendship, posting on TL and relationships. I met my friends and family about once a month at most while working. When I had a day of I would sleep and do house work maybe play some LoL. How can I reach my goal in my job that seems so far away when I only have around 50 years to do it while doing other things with my life like start a family. I get nervous cooking for friends and family because I know what made is shit compared to what it could be. It should have been faster, taste better, have better texture. I am never content with the result. This has helped me improve but I want more. I watched Jiro, dreams of sushi and he put his heart and soul into his job neglecting his family. I could never do it. I will put my heart into it but my soul can't be focused on just one thing. I want to do so much, I want to learn everything that I am interested in and do it on a level where I can say I did it pretty fucking well; all those things but there is so little time. I want to shitpost as well as Marmy, be as euro as Scip, be a juicy dad like Wave (in 10-20 years). But I have to choose. I don't want to. I really don't want to stop my self from doing anything. If I try everything all of it will turn to shit and that is much much worse. So I am at a crossroad and it is giving me some light anxiety. This will determine what my life will be like at least for the next 5 years how I choose. I am a rather extreme person in what I do so I heavily neglect things I do not deem important. I haven't had a mobile phone in over a year because I do not deem it an important part of being me. Right now I am doing to many things and leaving some of it behind I something that must be done. So I must choose. On my own. I will see what happens. + Show Spoiler + This is not a call for help or a sign of depression Fantasy league went well I think I have the second best team after Gahlo. Also Paragon bracket is tomorrow with 3 gods and Leffen it should be good.

+ Show Spoiler + Eppa, you have to decide where you want your balance to lie. It's not always an easy thing to determine---for example I've seen how hard my friends work in med school and how little time they have for their families at times and I know that is not what I want my life to be despite whatever their passion is for their work or how much more moeny they make.

Also Paragon bracket is tomorrow with 3 gods and Leffen it should be good. Life is short. It takes superhuman ability to be able to accomplish all of that, and even then time is a constraint. At this point it's all about priorities. Make a list of things you want to get done, or accomplish. Evaluate what you have time for. Compromise at points you can afford to compromise on.

Also Paragon bracket is tomorrow with 3 gods and Leffen it should be good. Yo man I get that. I feel the same way. I want to have about a billion different degrees (Math, Physics, Mech Eng, Robotics Eng, ECE, Philosophy, Neurology), I want to write a book, have a video game company, be a father, live in South Korea, Dominican Republic, Europe, be a detective, a rapper, a professional soccer coach, own an esports organization, run a brewery, move out to Colorado and spend my days snowboarding and growing a massive marijuana farm. There is so much in this world I want to do and so little time to do it. It's difficult because I feel like I want to put my attention in to so many different things, but I have come to realize I really only have the time to focus on a few different things. To be all cliche and shit when I was in the Peace Corps I had so much time to myself and I all this stuff started to hit me. Before (and during the first year or so) the Peace Corps I was pretty stressed and anxious about what I wanted to do. Not because I didn't know, but because I didn't know what I was actually going to pick. Eventually I got to a point where I realized I spent more time worrying about it than actually doing anything about it. Somehow I managed to just sort of say "fuck it, Ima just do what I want." So I did. I spent the last year (from about Sept 2013) just doing literally whatever felt right in my heart. In pretty much all aspects of life. I was very selfish. I alienated some friends because of this actually but that is a story for another time. In the end though, it really helped. After a lot of reflection* I was able to basically realize the absolute most important I-can't-live-without-these-things and the dreams I truly wanted to follow. These were the things I wanted to be on my gravestone. The work, hobbies, and passions I wanted everyone who has ever known me to remember. 1) Being a father and raising an incredibly close family. This is something I realized in the Peace Corps because growing up I didn't have the best family life. I isolated myself on purpose because being alone was much preferable than being with them. I don't want my children to be scared of me. I want them to WANT to hang out with me. Or at least not prefer to run away. 2) Video Games. Whether I become an LCS pro, own a video game company, run an esports organization, or just play them in my spare time! This is something I will never, ever give up. I had the chance to get an IMGD (Interactive Media and Game Development) degree but ended up going Computer Science. While IMGD would have pigeonholed me, I think ultimately it would have been the better choice. CS will certainly help me get in to the field, but I have a lot of catching up to do on my own. CS was the safer choice and I would definitely go back in time and slap the shit out of my pussy ass self who listened to controlling girlfriends who had too much common sense and logic. 3) Rap. I started writing rap when I was in the Peace Corps. I have about 20-30 songs written but have yet to record anything, because boy do I suck. But it is fun. So fun. Oh my god I love it. I may never let ANYONE hear me rap but that's cool. It's an excellent release and it is pretty easy to express myself through this medium. I hope to one day have an album and maybe put it on youtube. Maybe just let it sit and when I die it will play at the reading of my will. Who knows. Everything else in life? Honestly not that important. And I find between these three things - I can do that. I can accomplish everything in this small list with a level of success that I will be more than satisfied with and I know it. That's what drives me. Not some unattainable goal of headlining at Madison Square garden with Drake, Weezy, Nicki and Young Money. Not raising the summoner cup after crushing Faker in 3 straight games. Not raising 3 awesome kids who cure cancer, win Nobel Peace prizes, and finally bring home the Fifa World Cup to the fucking USA. It's the notion that between these three things that I love and dream (day AND night) about that drive me. Just to be DOING them makes me happy. And when you are happy, whether you are tired or stress about these happy things. At the end of the day when you close your eyes you know when you open them back up, you will be so glad to see the world and how you have shaped it. On my 19th birthday my father gave me the best advice I have ever gotten. I didn't really understand it until I was in the Peace Corps. "Michael. There are three things in life that matter. Eating well, sleeping well, and having good sex. Everything else is bullshit." And to me, that is one of, if not, the truest words I have ever heard. ps I know you maybe you weren't looking for a pep talk or something (or whatever the fuck this is lol), but I really resonated with what you talked about and just wanted to share my experience that you can hopefully relate to in someway. *Reflection time = Having 5-10 hour sessions with my iPod and Mary Jane ![]()
