I think there needs to be direct counters to things in order to force innovation and make people change how they're playing.

Also from the depths of work, I've theory crafted the ultimate singles team fwahahaha. The last one I crafted was iffy and then I realized not only was it iffy it was impossible in Gen VI. This one should be epic. Can't wait to walk around and hatch eggs fwahahahahaha.

I cracked them three times as I posted this. Neck is the best though, I secretly hope nobody accidentally severs their spinal cord doing it, and then all those shocked reactions over the years will be been a massive "I told you so." I regularly crack knuckles, toes, neck, back, hips, elbows, ankles sometimes. My L4/L5 vertebrae are somewhat compressed, so waking up in the morning and doing manual traction to get my whole lower back to crack feels amaaaaaaazing. Gymnastics really fucked me up lol You make me feel lucky I swam in high school and didn't wreck my body in my youth. That said, if I ever have kids, they're probably going to swim too. Chlorine aside, swimming has so many benefits. I really dislike swimming (or even just interaction with the sea in general) and it so happened that it's the most convenient sports activity to both address the remain of my back issues and develop the muscles I'd need:want to. Welp. Watching that gym video linked by Soniv made me think about all the stuff we're discussing, or even just mentioning in passing in our community. I dunno if it's cultural, seeing how most of us are from the US, but despite what a lot of people expect from "nerds/geeks" are BW/LoL fans are classified (or were until recently) there's a lot of diversity in the topics and centers of interest mentioned it. Be it cooking, specific foods, travelling, gym, modelling, litterature, fitness, etc. Well, I don't know if it's that hobbies are more diversified here, or that we're simply more willing to go into details about them, but it's "more" than I have seen in the other communities I've been a part of. 'tis pretty nice. As someone who enjoys learning new stuff it really makes the discussions interesting here because there'll be random tidbits on this or that topic that'll come up from time to time, and as long as we aren't discussing semantics over females and binaries it makes for nice reads, even without participating. Doesn't change the fact that it's mostly bits that won't ever be useful to me and in a way "wasted" time, but eh, whatever. ![]()

Should the opponent identify the enemy stall quickly enough, it was a sweep. When the majority of people predominantly play 1 type of strategy, they open themselves up collectively to the same answers/counters. At the same time, if you know you're specifically weak to something you think about how you can tune your strategy (whether it's card selection/sequencing of plays in a deck or move slots/Pokemon choice on a team) to do something about it. The great thing about a lot of these kinds of games is that you have the ability to find ways to reduce variance and tune matchups yourself. So if you know you're just completely weak to something, then if you decide to just run with it then you're introduced that variance into the game yourself. Yet at the same time, there's still ways to play around things. So even in bad matchups it's still not 100% certain. I guess LoL is a nice comparison. Some team comps are very very good but also have weaknesses. But even in bad matchups there are things you can do. Of course, this comparison is some what limited because when drafting both players can see what the other is doing and respond accordingly, and in-game it's real time not turn based. But I think the same principles are still relevant.
