I'm not an expert on swimming but I know a thing or two about how human's operate physically, and I highly doubt the shoulders are really that important strength wise. The lats are definitely the prime movers for most swimming activity as far as the torso involvement. This also lines up with the image of your standard swimmer: tall, wide shoulder structure, not really muscular but has noticeable chest and lat development, definitely lean but not like sprinter type conditioning; leanness is unrelated to which muscles are important though
That's not to say shoulders aren't important for swimming. As a joint they are clearly the most impacted and most prone to injury. There's actually a slang term of 'swimmer's shoulder' that describes overuse of basically the entire joint, possibly causing pain well into the arm because of issues with the bicep tendon and humerus and into the neck and back because of strain on the subscap and lower traps.
TLDR: If you want a focus to your strength training that has carryover into swimming work on your back(the closest sport specific movement is pullovers, but general lat and upper back training is all going to show benefit). Shoulders are more of a pre-hab worry; not that you ever want to neglect anything entirely from a strength aspect. Whenever people had high impact injuries during gymnastics, we would often do swimming conditioning workouts because it is FAR less impact/strain, and you can gauge intensity easily in the water. It also helps restrengthen injured and weaker muscles/joints because of this.
Oh ya water is amazing for rehab stuff. Swimmers shoulders are prone to injury from massive overuse, not impact of the water(in hindsight, my use of the phrase 'most impacted' was bad because it allowed this ambiguity). The shoulder isn't just used, it's being used in almost all of its possible ranges of motion, stressing all of the attachments. Though the activity itself is far less stressing on a scale of force(thus the lower requirement for raw strength and muscle development), it is extremely prone to various inflammations and postural deficiencies because of the volume of work involved when you are swimming very often.

Yes.
I specifically put extra study into athletic training/therapy in hopes to one day be staff of a pro-sports team(that vicarious living tho), but much like a doctor I had to do a lot of general study before any specialization.

The PT/AT program at Springfield is really good, and each sports team has several student ATs that rotate every semester. Since the gymnastics team consisted of both guys and girls, we had twice as many ATs; and with our amaaaaaaaaazing training room, I got exposure to a lot of cool stuff. I had a basically daily appointment to dip my hands in the paraffin wax bath to get my wrists warmed up/therapized before practice.
I know a bunch of the students that went through SC's programs ended up with pro (major or minor) sports teams.

Oh don't worry, I'm well aware it's my lats working I was actually feeling it into my tris today and by feeling it I don't mean in the good way. Need to do some mobility and release work on my lats now that I'm doing this methinks.

You should be embarrassed if any advertising works on you (hot grill or otherwise). That is to say if advertising makes you buy/be interested in something you don't want or need. That just means you weren't able to evaluate the product when detached from the trimming. If you can evaluate the product properly there's nothing wrong with enjoying a hot grill on TV/website/billboard.
Unless you're driving. Hot grills are my #1 driving hazard.

I don't know why anyone should be "embarrassed" when advertising is effective. The pay millions of dollars for that stuff to work. Recognizing it is important, being objective is important, but I wouldn't be ashamed because the product with the attractive woman on it caught my attention first...

I remember reading a study(no way I'm going to look for it) that went into detail about how there are sales methods that are so effective that people told ahead of time what would be 'used against them' were still influenced by it. It has to do with the way our brains process certain information, especially with numbers.

then he goes into something like why he married his mom when she's so aggressive and domineering obviously hinting that shikamaru is going to get with tsunade (dem legs) who's also pretty aggressive and domineering

It's hinted later who he gets with, pretty much everyone gets with whoever you expected tbh. The romance was very telegraphed.

Unless you're driving. Hot grills are my #1 driving hazard. If you discover a product because of advertising and then evaluate it as a good buy then the advertising worked. people who make the best products advertise too.

There's one very shit thread with a lot of very shit posts still, but overall the new users have been great.
