This is legit a first world problem, but there's too many things I want to do with my time now and I'm depressed that I can't do everything at once. It's really weird to think back a few years and remember that I had nothing going on and I was bored out of my mind every day to the point of depression.

Bouncing from depression to depression has to be rough. I couldn't even imagine being depressed. I'm unhappy for like 2-3 hours max and then I just find something that makes me appreciate my life. Maybe I have emotional ADD?

The Screwtape Letters look pretty fucking fun
Do we have some more historical stuff suggestions? I think that's more what my teacher had in mind, although I don't think he'd refuse the Screwtape Letters either.

If you're allowed to do a movie, write about Midnight Meat Train.

Getting bored of a game doesn't mean it's always going to be boring to you. I got bored of WoW after playing for like 5-6 years straight, but lately I've been having fun leveling, doing dungeons, and just generally playing. I just needed a 2 year break from it.

A lot of people left during Cata/Mists, and with Warlords looking like a much better expansion (supposedly less tier downtime, Garrisons, no flying so more immersive world, nostalgia trip with Outlands, etc), I know plenty of people that are interested in trying again.

Doesn't hurt that this is the first xpac since WotLK that isn't a bunch of filler.

I didn't play pandaria, but I'd argue that the zones they did put into Cataclysm were well done. The story was streamlined, but it was coherrent and (IMO) quite good in the immersion level.

What I mean is, if we put WoW in the in the Warcraft storyline, there is a jarring halt in the story post Lich King. The entirety of Cataclysm and Pandaria are unnecessary.

The Prince is a good piece. Only 160 some pages, and pretty important piece of work.

Art of War, and Book of 5 Rings are good choices as well.

The Art of War is dubiously philosophical.

I'd rather recommend Clausewitz tbh.

I'm not sure I follow you here. Deathwing wasn't in Warcraft 3, but he's a pretty important Warcraft lore figure regardless.

On a separate topic, the Q3 2014 report I mentioned previously covered the quarter ending on September 30th, so the timeline for the gain of 2.6 million subscribers is a month and a half, not 2 weeks. Still very impressive.

Alright, thanks for the reccomendations! I think I'll go with Candide if my teacher won't like the idea of The Screwtape Letters, making fun of Leibnitz's idea of the best possible world sounds fun
also Voltaire is a beast

actually I'm not sure, it sounds rather silly. Fucking hell, philosophy why

Candide is actually pretty easy to study, and because it's in the context of Les Lumières, if you know some stuff (especially Diderot and Rousseau) you can very easily link it to what Voltaire says in Candide to beef up your analysis.

edit - I'm assuming that you can't drop classes in euro high school - this could be a false assumption

In Netherlands you can, not sure about Czech Rep. Well, you still need a minimum amount of classes and I guess Scip doesn't have one or two "backup classes" so he's pretty boned.

no, you can't drop any classes in high school ever over here, wtf? You can get slightly different classes if you go to a different high school but yeah.

Actually, I think I'd prefer something more personal, rather than something that deals with politics and how society should be structured and shit like that. I don't know anything about society and I'm not about to start learning about it, so something that deals with shit like experience, knowledge, conscience, idk stuff like that probably better suited for me.

I think Spinoza wrote about things like independance of mind, what makes a man "enslave" himself (read: puts himself under the influence of another, or willingly follows his suggestions) and some such. But it's been awhile and I didn't read too much.

Truth as Subjectivity, Critique of Pure Reason, The Rebel, Nietzche, or Waiting for Godot (I recommend this).
