It's way easier to convince your mates to just create an account and download the game, than it is to tell them to go out and spend 40-80$ for a video game, before they can play with you. | ||

I know Riot were smart and jumped on the Esports train as soon as they saw that their game could have made it, but I'm pretty sure the scene would still be around even without Riot's support. I mean I won't deny that Riot does help a lot in the way they have, but I do kinda get tired of people pretending Riot's funding is the only reason it's around. | ||
