I know and admit I was in the wrong on the biological standpoints. Cool story. The whole "there's only 2 genders" thing is still dumb, not that I want another 3 pages on it. The end.

@req
I'd be lying if I said I did the peace corps for the people in Lesotho. I did it because I was burned out from school, had no drive to get a career (despite a very nice offer from GE /brag), and was somewhat "lost" in terms of my life and my identity.
that being said, I figured if I needed time to "find myself" I might as well help out some less fortunate people.
I don't think the peace corps is right for everyone but I do think everyone needs to put themselves in a situation/culture that is totally different than what they're used to. 6 months to a year or something.
there are some really cool programs out there. actually req, check this out: http://gepik-tek.weebly.com/
go teach English in south Korea, meet your dream waifu and get paid legitimate money instead of the shit I make. most of you make the same amount of money in 3 months or less than I do in 26 months of service hahaha.

Okay, we get that that wasn't the point of your original argument. We made a separate one when you used as an example something we found offensive. We get that wasn't what you meant to do.
But. You. Did. Say. It.

Honestly, as I've said before, I don't feel happy in my career. I have considered doing overseas work or volunteer work or whatever, but it's a bit scary, you know? While it's a worthwhile commitment, it's a big one and I'm really indecisive and sorta lazy.

I was merely responding to the "single you out" post. If you make a post you should want to be singed out because you want your individual opinion to be acknowledged. The previous post was a little pissy alright and I didn't see the apology post before so yeah that was a bit faggoty but the following wasn't too bad if you generally agree with coma dose and asmoedous' opinion.

I think its important to associate meaning with words. We've established that my views are not (at least not especially) narrow-minded as you assumed they were just because I used "traditional" words. Not only that, but my words were in the context of a primitive "code" as opposed to an assumption about all people.

I think everyone (including myself) is a bit too worked up over this thing. There's differing opinions and we obviously aren't getting anywhere. Let's take a step back and talk about something else.

this is both the best and worst discussion in this whole thread whats wrong with getting "worked up"

I don't know how old you are but I get the feeling you aren't much older than me. you've had a steady job so you got a decent amount saved up I bet (more than I did prob), no children, wife, - now is the time man.
you don't have to be a bush dwelling hardcore preachy sonofabitch like me, but get out there man. seriously. not happy with your career? go teach English in south Korea. you'll still have all modern day conveniences but you'll be on your own and learn so much.
at least give it a Google.

Also, some people straight up come for LoL and not necessarily the community. Fuck those guys. If you're here just for LoL and not for the community then GTFO.EDIT: That actually summarizes my stance for TL in general, tbh lol. The DotA and SC2 sections would be a lot nicer if that view were enforced. I agree with this, and is probably a big reason why I still think OT should never have been created. The problem is I will forever write down random amounts of sentences to say exactly what you said in one while still being unclear in the end. gg yo It's a skill to hone. And fuck it I'm not gonna watch that documentary, with how I'm managed my time this week an activity taking an hour turns into my whole evening taken between diner, that and filler stuff. I'm going to need to up my efficiency with how I get shit done and move to the next without procrastinating or I'll drown into that mindset of "don't want to do much/feel like I don't have time for anything" when I get home from work. >> This feeling omg! Its my first year of my career after school and I'm having a early life crisis i swear to god. I literally procrastinate like im getting paid to stumble around my house picking my nose. Literally everyday I don't do anything while feeling like I have no time and hate myself more for getting nothing done. Some days its not like that but as soon as I start doing something thats a "waste of time" the rest of the day is gone for sure

Personally, arguing with TL people can be as obnoxious to me as arguing with my own family. What that says about my healthy treatment of internet relationships notwithstanding, I can get pretty frustrated with stuff on these forums.
Unfortunately, it's just a bunch of negative emotions that fuck up my actual IRL day. That, to me, is why getting "worked up" is bad. You, on the other hand, have constantly said this kind of interaction doesn't prompt you to any emotional response, so I imagine your perspective is different.

That's no fun for anyone imo.
I jumped in the middle and now realize the whole thing started over a misunderstanding and and that's not cool either.

personally: 10/10 would enjoy again except the about 2 pages where everyone completely misread and misunderstood everything i said. That was a bit meh
but i guess thats why everyone gets uncomfortable on every tl argument i get in after it goes past a few posts (thought they didnt wanna get banned lolol)

I can't say I feel quite the same. I feel that, while there have been some emotions and misunderstanding, etc. in this particular discussion, it was a good one. It was interesting to read, at least for me.
Now, having any type of controversial discussion with my dad is absolutely impossible. He's the most thick-headed, stubborn person I know when it comes to crap like that, and my brother is exactly the same way.
We've had to make a "no politics or economics discussion" rule for holidays...

Asmo has bronze level emotional control. ♥
I don't want to bring up the discussion because like req said it's pretty much dissolved into silliness now, but I definitely agreed with most of what tuet said. and I'm also good at " this kind of interaction doesn't prompt you to any emotional response"
that last bit was poorly worded but you get it
