I think you just can't wrap your head around the fact that your identity can be different than the plumbing you have going on downstairs.

oh good Lord I stepped into this conversation. Anyone have pictures of puppies?

Womens and mens brains are pretty different, I remember reading some studies, something to do with grey matter being higher in women for one. I'm sure some other things. The fact that sex only affects physical characteristics is a very naieve view of thing since evolutionary it makes a lot of sense for sexes to act differently. (females look for alpha males, males just look to bang anyone etc)

That's generalization at it's most generalized. That's like sexism level generalization.

As for evolution, I like to think that we, as a society, have moved beyond the "best way to spread my seed" stage of humanity. If we were still banging rocks around a cave, sure I'd be with you, but this is fucking 2013 man.

Why? men still try to bang everyone at clubs, women are more selective. We've barely evolved since the banging rocks around a cave, we are just more educated, not more evolved.

Please don't rope me in to this definition. We have evolved and suggesting we shouldn't expect more of people is ridiculous.

a) Trolling
or
b) Really uneducated on the subject and trying to talk out your ass

You think that didn't have anything to do with the way he was raised? It's not like he was born to want to be a spy, gender-oriented shows and entertainment during developmental stages are huge. Compare Power Rangers to... what the fuck do girls watch at that age? Used to be Disney stuff about love and relationships. You show that same boy Disney movies and cartoons on TV while growing up in lieu of Power Rangers or, fuck I don't know James Bond or something, and I bet he'd be fine writing about feelings.

You're completely ignoring the nurture aspect that society pushes on people. This is why, a lot of times, people don't realize their gender and sexuality preferences until they're teenagers, because as a child they're almost forced into their gender roles. Suddenly they're in high school and realize they can like different things and be with different people and make their own decisions about life.

If a boy grows up being taught that fighting is cool and tough and feelings are for girls. then he prefers to write about being tough rather than feelings, dont you think its a pretty big stretch to assume biology has something to do with that?

My mom listened to too much daytime radio, i couldnt watch south park or pokemon, we watched simpsons all day erry day gg.

Also, especially with families with both girls and boys, they watch the same shows. Although it might not be the case for every family, I doubt families are really putting on one thing for girls and another for boys, so they don't "turn their son gay" or something (lol). However my sister ended up watching romantic comedies and I ended up watching brood war. wat do?

I'm quite sure if you have seen more than one television show, you have been exposed to those widely held societal beliefs.
