Sure it would help if everyone were on board, but if people weren't racist/sexist/corrupt etc then we wouldn't need to do anything at all to be not bigots. So your definition of bigots is extended to how many bigots you know and aren't trying to do anything about. Also as if bigotry is even close to one of the biggest problems (hunger and disease rank far higher than slight discrimination, white man problems..) | ||

The issue is you're leaving out the context. We live in a society with A, B, and C and that society supports the problematic and flawed rules made by A. Thus if B are bystanding, they are not fixing the problem. If A doesn't exist, then their rules don't exist, and it's not a problem. But that context does exist. | ||

Reddit is a good place for news, fanart, videos, AMAs, and things of that nature. It's fantastic if you're just looking to get caught up on what's going on in the community. It is, however, not the best place for constructive conversation. The lack of Moderation is also appallingly apparent. On the other hand, TL is great for conversation, theorycrafting, ideas, and things like the TL Writeups. While news can be posted here, because it's a general forum it often gets buried within a page or two unless you make a new thread, and some news doesn't exactly warrant that. More people should use both. And should use S@20 or RoG as well for datamining and the like. People should use every tool available while knowing the rules for all of them, that meme spamming doesn't belong on TL (outside of this thread, ofc), while intelligent discussion does not take place on Reddit. | ||

The vast majority of people are proud of their gender and wouldn't want to be identified as a gender neutral person. People just need to be educated to understand about the few who don't. Trying to get everyone to conform to some bland standard is never going to happen and certainly not objectively righteous. That's not to say people are only proud of being men if they work a job and beat their wife. Traditional gender roles and gender not existing are also 2 different things. | ||
