from 0 = male and 100 = female, grand majority will be 0 or 100 with some random 33s and troll 69s in there but it's a really bimodal distribution MBTI has a normal one so it is quite different I am trying to get this thread back on personality tests hate pls

In future dating sites might tend to match people with "compatible" personalites. Work might group people together. (don't put the math analytic guys with the sensing guys who think in rainbows of specific emotions). I can't be bothered to think of more right now but it should be pretty obvious that knowing roughly how a person functions is very useful wheres the sociologists getting angry at everyone saying their entire field is useless TORTE DI LINI CAN YOU HEAR ME

it doesn't have to be MBTI. The more advanced the test the better. The usefulness of MBTI is probably something sociologists have been arguing for years but there must be some useful ways to abuse knowing that these guys are really observant or these guys make quick decisions or w/e w/e

its a personality test, not a skills test. Therefore there is no "right" or "wrong" answers that would lead people to try to "cheat" unless someone specifically stated that they were going to hire only if you are X personality test (they do this in japan, blood type discriminiation LOL)

Right? except its not completely random its based on personal input so yes the Forer effect is going to be widespread if people read about "their type" but it doesnt mean its completely useless, just that you might get bias anyway, as I said, this information isn't too useful for yourself (but it might be, some things might explain why they act a certain way, but forer effect is dangerous here), its useful statisically. If you group people by IQ it mightn't mean they all have good genetics or are all going to be really smart but you'll probably get better results teaching em physics over the people who scored 40 because their parents never taught them to read or count and their teachers sucked at it On October 17 2013 01:56 Scip wrote: Patriarchy doesn't exist, your grandma was happy when your grandad was providing for the entire household, sexy videogame characters are great rolemodels for young girls because most girls really need a can of sex the fk up and women are inferior any questions you would like my brother On October 17 2013 01:52 Vegetarian Wolf wrote: guys pls i want to talk about feminist cultural theory im sure at least -one- of you read something by greer, cixous, irigaray, gilbert/gubar, or beauvoir, right?? can you stop victimizing yourself and realize that you're wrong so i read a summary of that book you mentioned and tl dr of the tl dr it sucks to be a woman if you're trying to keep up with men because you have to deal with childbirth and maternal instincts and shit which kept our race alive instead of getting really good at running fast or guessing where things in the sky are going to be in 4 years also interesting thing on the nuturevsnature gender roles, everyone parent ive ever heard talking about it (even that lesbian one on qi lolol) always seem to see it all happening naturally. (+that kid was raised as no-gender and identified as a boy early) although its pc to believe that genders are all assigned by the evil society id be very interested to read some examples of the converse. i mean we see for examples tomboys naturally show up even when everyone tries to make them "girlier" they always rebel against it at least when they're younger

Myers Brigg is not hard science but it's useful in that it provides an abstraction for you to self-reflect on how your like to behave and how that relates with other people.
