Well, it's more than that. I've read some things saying that the whole city/world doesn't really even exist, and that there are some ridiculous load times.
But I've only read a few things in passing, haven't really looked into it in any meaningful way. I'd love if it didn't suck, I enjoy Sims.

I can't play master difficulty in D3 because I have not completed act 4. Why did blizz choose that d3 servers are separate?

Marida opens up the wing binders on the Kshatriya and leans backwards so that she can use all of her thruster power to back away from it and keep the same momentum. The Kshatriya can do this because it has more thruster power than a Jegan and the wing binders, so it can position all of its thrusters to fire in the same direction. They're both moving through space at the same speed and the Jegan can never hit her. The blast of fuel from the thrusters also momentarily blinds the pilot (he was trying to do the same thing to her by putting the sun at his back but she's a newtype and she doesn't need her eyes to know where he is), and then she counterattacks and gets him. Basically, the Jegan pilot was an Earthnoid and thinking in two dimensions, and Marida was thinking in three dimensions. First I was like hey this analysis is really cool and whoever directed the show made a lot of effort.. Then I remembered the Comedy of Banagher vs Colony Laser. What a way to turn the show upside down in 2 minutes.
I mean, I can try to explain this. It's pretty silly though.
So, in Zeta Gundam they develop something called the Biosensor.
What the Biosensor does is take the psychic energy that's created by newtypes and transform it into physical energy. It's like creating a turbine that's powered by thoughts.
What this does is it lets a newtype in a Biosensor equipped mobile suit use his own newtype energy to superpower the mobile suit for a brief period of time, basically until the newtype wears himself out.
Camille does this in Zeta Gundam on a couple occasions. + Show Spoiler +
It's done a lot more in Double Zeta and gets pretty ridiculous, but Double Zeta in general is pretty ridiculous. One of the things this is regularly used for is blocking beam shots with magic mind powers.
So, in Chars Counterattack they develop something called a Psychoframe. The Psychoframe works like the Biosensor, but in reverse. It amplifies the psychic power of the newtype and allows them to do more powerful things than they could without a Psychoframe.
This is how Amuro moves Axis. It's pretty well established up till that point that powerful newtypes can move things telekinetically. Here's Haman doing it in Char's Deleted Affair, which I'm under the impression is pretty canon: + Show Spoiler +
There's also a scene in Zeta Gundam where Four floats on earth, but I can't find it right now.
So, the Gundam Unicorn basically has both a Biosensor and a Psychoframe. So the pilot is simultaneously having his own newtype abilities amplified by the suit, and at the same time able to use these amplified newtype abilities to amplify the physical abilities of the suit.
And the result is that he can do things like block giant colony lasers.
It's pretty silly though. Like I said, I didn't much care for the last two or so episodes of Unicorn. It really stretched believability.

Just be careful and turn down difficulty once you hit 70 because there is a huge ramp up.

I heard the load times are a lot better, people are just complaining that it's not open world like Sims 3; going in between lots there's a loading screen, but the loading is supposed to be fast, as opposed to Sims 3 where the whole game feels slow.
I actually really like Sims 3 but the damn thing is such a unoptimized resource hog.

Despite all this bullshit with Newtypes and what they can do, do you honestly think Tomino is trying to create a "realistic" super robot show? Why bother with M particles when Newtypes themselves are basically perpetual machines? Honestly, they should just make some cybernewtypes and use their telekinetic power to drive spaceships and make a RA3 Psychic Dominator instead of the Colony Laser.
All those "realistic" weapons and "detailed descriptions of how they work" are just bullshit because Newtypes exist in UC. If there are no Newtypes, sure I can see the merit of using (somewhat) realistic physics / machinery for the show. But come on. If you want to stay realistic you start out realistic and stay that way; if you want to go supernatural you start out supernatural from the very beginning. This whole Newtype business is just Tomino not able to make up his mind.

So I just started playing Breath of Fire III for the first time ever. So far it seems like a JRPG that I might actually be able to finish... *crosses fingers*

WEC games starting soon, East vs West, EG vs Vici Gaming coming up soon on twitch.tv/joindotared. Games haven't started yet, but I'm hoping the games half even half the excitement of this game
They're talking about VG's new lineup, with iceiceice and Black^ right now, I guess they'll talk about EG afterwards before the game actually starts.

Breath of Fire III is really good.
I think a lot of people would like Gundam more if there weren't any newtypes. I probably would.
But I think with some notable exceptions, newtypes and their newtypiness don't really dominate the shows. If you did remove them you'd have pretty much the same story.

You know the effect where you get to know/learn about something and then suddenly you encounter it because you just ignored that kind of stuff before? Read wiki article about the song Katyusha, read that the song was played in the anime Girls und Panzer and ta-daa, someone links just that. Let's pretend that I am the center of the universe
