If you like Seed, that's fine. I'm not saying you're not allowed to like it. I'm just trying to get you to recognize that Seed and Zeta Gundam say are different kinds of show. They have different priorities. They behave differently. They are not setting out to appeal to the same people or accomplish the same things. This is why I do not think it is fair to directly compare them, and why I think if somebody wants to watch "Gundam", they should watch Zeta and avoid Seed. | ||

Those flaws existed at least as early as Zeta. I am not too familiar with 1979 so I won't comment on it, but remember it was Zeta that brought Gundam to the limelight. | ||

It's not even close to the sort of silly shit that happens in Seed. Everything gets an upgraded version and it will just show up without being talked about in exactly the episode where it's "needed". | ||

SEED Destiny milked it. The thing with Shinn Asuka was that he seemed like an ordinary human in terms of his motivations and values. He was realistic, but not likeable. | ||

Basically ketara is saying: SEED is not exactly the same as 1979/etc due to SEED lacking AB and C. Therefore it is not a Gundam show. Just like "SC2 does not have SBS thus not a SC game." Unfortunately the feanchise needs to evolve and cannot be stationary. He is defining the essence of the genre too narrowly. Gundam is identified by loved ones / friends separated different sides of the battlefield trying to kill each other due to unfortunate circumstances. | ||

I think if you wanted to make an argument that BW and SC2 had different standards, different goals, and set out to do different things, it wouldn't be hard to do. | ||

Alien and Aliens, despite being two movies in the same universe sharing the same name, are different kinds of movie and designed to appeal to different kinds of people. Alien is a horror movie, Aliens is an action movie. To say that they are thematically similar or comparable on equal terms is disingenuous, despite them having such a similar framework. Zeta and Seed the same sort of thing applies. | ||
