Is it safe to say we have jumped some sort of shark here?
Everyone who claims that "Pokemon designs were better in Gen 'X'" are only wearing nostalgia goggles. Nothing has gotten more ridiculous or somehow worse. If anything the goods are better and the sillies are the same.
Stuff like execute, tangala were pretty meh from gen 1 but I'll never forget the horrors of Jynx and Mr. Mime.
Yamask and Cubone share the prize for the most depressing pokedex entries though.

Who the fuck came up with cubone "hey you know what kids want to know about? That a pokemon wears his dead parents"

The pokemon design problem is an artifact of the questionable decision to add 100+ pokedex entries in each generation. Its not like they should have left us with 150 forever, but adding 30-50 at a time would have been wiser from a "these pokemon are actually original and fun" standpoint. Do we really need Pidgey and Starly? I remember playing Firered and being like "wtf is this pokemon, why didn't they just give me a rattata instead?
If you think about it. Pokemon is basically every studios dream. They make one game and release two "slightly" different versions of it thus making people buy one and have to trade with another person or that person just buys both which a large percentage probably does. Secondly, they can just keep making games and adding in Pokemon that really are less and less creative but the fan base just grows and grows and eat it up. If EA tried to release a game like that two versions full price and only thing different is a few creatures which we can trade with others if we want them would cause a huge shit storm.

it's called MADDEN
Well played good sir! I totally forgot about the whole sports video games haha. Man what a gold mine they are.
Ps. I've come to the conclusion that the TL politics thread is just 5-10 users who create new accounts to discuss their viewpoints without people knowing its them or if it is just to back up one of their own comments from another account. They amount of less than 100 posts accounts that show up ok that forum to post some outrageous view is way to high. Tons of 0-20 post count accounts too. Just sayin

I still love going in and reading the thread every once in a while. It can be an interesting read. The post counts is just something I've noticed over time.

Now you're at 5012, shitposting spammer!
So while I was listening to Blackmore's Night, youtube slipped this in the recommended videos. Welp, it kinda changed over the years, didn't it?
Some Internet Jung test told me Introvert(33%) Sensing(25%) Thinking(25%) Judging(11%). I'd have expected Feeling and Thinking to be closer, considering how I'm someone who always try to think stuff through but fails most of the time, and ends up relying on feelings in the heat of the moment. Also according to some interpretation "They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ.", which is pretty far from the truth (especially the punctuality) and made me laugh heartily. Rest seemed pretty accurate.
I read a study about two twins who were separated at birth, they had the same favorite color, their ex-girlfriends had the same names, their eventual wives had the same names, and their first child and dog had the same name.
The Smash doc made me want to play a ton of Smash. Still playing Project M though, I love Zelda in that game and would be sad to have to give her up to go back and play Melee.

I'm reading a book, Quiet, which has been interesting.
It certainly has something to do with it. And I've had this discussion with many of my friends before. I am perfectly happy sitting in my apartment just doing my own thing and not seeing anyone else for long spans of time. Some friends find that insane lol.
Related - who here has taken the Myers-Briggs test? I'm INTJ

I don't often go clubbing, but I enjoyed the few times I did.

Reminds me of the complaints we have about Riot releasing champions too quickly last year.
