I really don't give a damn what you think about the idea of anthropomorphized pandas doing martial arts. Maybe instead of ripping off Salvatore for the past twenty years in your character profiles, you could take the realization that this is Warcraft. Not your own little fan-fiction playground where you can ignore parts you don't like just because you think an idea is silly.
You know whatever happened to the enjoyment of new and unusual things and bending fantasy tropes in ways that are considered different from the norm? I have no problem with people who dislike Pandaren in character so long as it's believable. It's a race that generally stuck to itself and while not hostile to anyone it never sided in the major conflicts until now and they went to both factions due to differing ideology. I get that.
What I do have a problem with is people who just shout in caps NO PANDAS BECAUSE THEY ARE SILLY. Good job ignoring your own crazy ass character and race stories because hey it's super serious and Panda's are not cool enough to hang out with my half dragon/half elf step son of Illidan reject.
Step back, get some perspective and maybe get rid of your irrational dislike of whatever's new being bad. Warcraft itself is a subversion of numerous fantasy tropes to a point that now several of those ideas are considered tropes themselves. Maybe you'd understand that if you stopped playing House in Redridge and actually go out on an adventure with some friends you met at the Tavern.
At least we can all agree on the idea that elves have caused all of the worlds(of warcraft) problems.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
I understand the need for the race in the game, but an entire expansion focused on them with only one raid with a well known character as boss?
When we look at the end-bosses of raids, in Vanilla we have Raggy, Nefarian, Onyxia, Hakkar, C'Thun and Kel'Thuzad. TBC has Kael'Thas, Lady Vashj, Illidan, Archimonde, Kil'Jaeden, Magtheridon/Gruul. Wrath has Kel'Thuzad (lazy rehash yeah), Malygos, Yogg-Saron/Algalon, Anub-Arak, Lich King. Cata has Cho'Gall, Al'Akir, Nefarian, Deathwing and rehash Raggy.
MoP has only Garrosh pretty much.
It could just be that previous expansions have been far too light on Pandaren lore (which I definitely think so, Goblins/Worgen, Draenei/Blood Elf already had some presence in the game).

Actually 3/4 of the reboot movies are out. And it's not just the end of evangelion that I'd have to watch supposedly, there's also Death/rebirth.
|
The Death is just a rerelease of the series in movie form. While the rebirth is part of End of Evangelion. So don't see why you need to watch those if you going to watch EoE. I completely forgot 3rd movie came out. Depending on what version you watched the "extra" footage will be already in the last few eps.
|
I'm not watching the one with extra content supposedly. I'm actually finding I notice the angstiness of the series a little less because there's actually a lot of plot development now. Guess we'll see what the supposed horrible end of the series is.

Ah K i'm not actually sure what's added in. Think I watched directors cut when I watched it again a few years back. The ending isn't horrible per say but it's incomplete without the EoE movie. Think the two together make a pretty decent ending.

TBC was by far the biggest loregasm for people versed in pre-WoW Warcraft.

Amen. Made me want to punch a wall. Taking such a cool character in War3 and making him randomly an evil raid boss for no real reason.

Is that really surprising? I thought it was clear that Kael'thas was willing to do anything to sate his and his people's "thirst for magic"?
Never played WoW, just coming off my knowledge of TFT.

Not at alll my impression. He joined up with Illidan because the other choice was to be executed by fuking FOR 'UMANITY.
