Why risk getting all that nastiness all over mouse/keyboard? i can only do that after i finish the first half otherwise it spills on my face, also its louder and more disturbing to cooworkers, its a good excuse to only use my 1 hand on mouse for ~5 min with which i can browse many websites. I keep my desk pretty clean but i cannot clean inside my keyboard and it is distressing, the dust blowers do nothing.

As long as it isn't a laptop keyboard, you can usually disassemble it or remove the keys to clean beneath it.

The old fashioned way Basically, you find wild Pokemon that give a certain EV stat and farm them (e.g. Zubats in caves for Speed). Pokemon XY helps this because you can get horde battles of, say, 5x Mime Jr and you get EVs from each of them. Smashing through these encounters will rack up EVs really fast, especially with things like Pokerus and Mach Brace. Of course, this is fairly end-game sort of stuff. Horde Battles are primarily for when you significantly out-level the wild Pokemon and can just AoE them all down (e.g. moves like Earthquake), and stuff like Macho Brace is end-game stuff. I mean theoretically it's possible at the beginning but it's really slow so I wouldn't advise it if you're just starting up a new game. That leads us to... 2. The new high-tech way called Super Training! Super Training is one of the things you can do in the touch-screen area (this is also where Pokemon-Amie, Wireless Connectivity, etc. all are). You can scroll between them using the arrows in the corners or the L/R trigger buttons. Super Training is a minigame where you select a Pokemon in your Party as the "Active" Pokemon and then play a mini-game with it where shoot balls at targets by tapping the screen with the stylus to get points. Get enough points and that clears the stage, giving you EV points. You get to choose the target and that determines the EVs you get, and how many of them. For example, Magnemite target gives +1 SpA EV but Magnezone target gives +12 EVs. The levels get harder of course, and the targets can also fire balls back at you which will lose you points! Different Pokemon also have different styles. For example, my Mareep shoots one ball at a time with average speed and power, while by Minccino shoots them really fast but with less power. You can also shoot charged attacks by holding down the stylus and then releasing. Mareep for example shoots a big power shot while Minccino fires off a volley of like 5 shots from its charged shot. The more EVs a Pokemon has, the more points it scores per target hit too. The in-game tutorial is pretty good at explaining how this all works so I'll let that explain the rest. At the end of each round you also get an EV Punching Bad of the same type as the stage you cleared. If you select on of these Punching Bags, you can break them on the main Super Training Screen. Tapping the screen with make your active Pokemon hit the bag once and each bag takes a different number of hits to break. If you leave the Super Training Screen as the main screen on your DS as you're running around, your Pokemon will automatically just punch the bag every now and then. Most of the punching bags are EV bags, and the more decorative the bag the more EVs it gives and the decorations follow Pokemon styles. For example, the Lampent bag gives +4 SpA EVs while the Chandelure bag gives +12 SpA EVs I think. You can also get special bags with special properties. For example, the Pink Bag gives Friendship stats, some bags give you power-ups when you play the target shooting game in Super Training, and there's a white bag that resets all your EVs completely (yay!). Super Training also displays a radar-graph that shows how many EVs a Pokemon has in each stat and a bar that fills up as you get more EVs, showing how close you are to being fully trained. Sadly it doesn't show numerical values so you still need to manually keep track but it's a nice tool nevertheless. Super Training is a great way to just EV train the exact stats you want at the very beginning of the game cause you're OCD perfectionist like that, or if you want perfect EVs on really low level Pokemon (e.g.if you play Little Cup battles). It's pretty fun and way better than just grinding hordes of wild Pokemon but it is slower than end-game horde grinding. Bulbapedia has a really great article on this if you want to read more about it.
