Part of the struggle is my wife is training for it and so if we were ever to train the same time we need someone to watch kiddo and if we don't train together we hardly see each other. And I'm not sure I want to sacrifice my gainz.
It is vanity to love what passes quickly and not to look ahead where eternal joy abides. Tiberius77 | Mordek #1881 "I took a mint!"

You haven't spent much time around kids, have you?

edit: also, can confirm swimming is great if you have injuries - just be careful on the shoulder

See, that is the kind of question that you just couldn't answer on our EU skype chat

Swimming is decent but I can't do a proper front crawl anymore---the rotation hurts too much. I just end up doing the old people breast stroke. I guess that's appropriate what with me being old and metal hips and whatnot.

Yeah mordek, essentially I have health issues which caused me to have to take medication for long periods of time which in turn fucked with my joints. Most orthos have heard of it as far as I know.

Also today has been so weird---3 cancellations in a row. Its like 1:30, I've been here since after 8 and I've seen 1 patient.

And yeah it sucks I used to be a lifeguard and a really good swimmer. Not anymore.

And and scip I remember that conversation. Really speaks of maturity levels when you mention kids and your mind drifts where it does. But then again you knew that already

I've actually been following Mike Chang stuff for a bit. Not sure how good he is or his stuff but it's rather easy to follow at least. Thinking of going to gym with a trainer since I don't know how to gym at all then eventually going on my own.

Dang dude. You really got to do w/e you can now to preserve what you have then. All I do is process reports of people who have complications after joint replacements

Nothing wrong with Breaststroke, used to be my favored event in High School. Backstroke might also be a decent option - it's a bit hard on the shoulders, but the generally slower stroke and straight posture on your back makes it not bad in a lot of ways

the trouble with keeping up with kids is not how energetic they are, but how boring they are for the most part (maybe borings the wrong word, the need to entertain them constantly wtf)
they only stand a chance in running and thats only after they've taken turns trying to catch you and resting intermittently thats pretty tough actually

would never ever want to be a parent though unless maybe it was my kid(s) and i had someone else to do nearly all the work
just have to make sure she didnt bang a black guy
its basically evolutions form of slavery
