Also I did win that normal zoltan B run, so I guess that variant isn't hopeless (but I did get pretty lucky in many places and the new hacking module helped a ton). I switched to kestrel A to start on hard mode runs, made it to the flagship and got a nasty tactical surprise in that you can't teleport cheese all the weapons there and so with no cloaking device I got utterly wrecked on phase 2 | ||

You can for the ion cannon and the giant beam but you can't for the missiles and the laser cannons, those are now connected to the main ship. The drone composition might be different too (it's normally lots of beam drones in normal mode) but I can't remember because I was too busy dying. That said as far as collecting scrap goes boarding and capturing still seems to be the best way. You get so, so much more. | ||

You can still totally telecheese the flagship weapons, can't you? Also, teleporter strats got so much stronger with mind control + hacking. It's actually really silly, how much stupid stuff you can get away with. There's a large RNG element in what subsystem the mothership targets with its hacking drone though. One game it went for my (basically uninvested) hacking drone, thankfully not in the way, and I just let it sit there. | ||
