Brawl had a buffer for everything but PM removed it. The only fixed buffer I know of is the one for lucario's down b aura-cancel and that's it. In case your LCD/plasma TV is screwing you up (because they have lag that CRTs don't) there is a special mode for turning a 3 frame buffer on. During my training I haven't needed it on my LCD TV. There are in fact new mechanics in project M. A bunch of Brawl ATs are actually still there (wave bouncing, glide tossing, DACUS) and some characters have specific stuff like double super wavedash and z-canceling for samus or aura cancel and sphere cancel for lucario. Meanwhile PM has pretty much every Melee mechanic except for light shielding (that see-through shield you get with a soft L button press in Melee) and tether ledge mechanics (which are hardcoded in Brawl to be different, no samus wall grappling here). In response to the earlier combos/wavedashing comments, yes, I found wavedashing in PM easier, but nothing else really seemed easier. If you're playing a melee favorite you've got all the same techs as before and people agree that Fox feels identical to Melee and Falco is, at the very least, almost identical. I haven't heard anything about the other top-tier melee characters. Combo-wise it's generally dubious to claim that PM combos are easier. Certainly I've heard complaints about Mario (who right now is the quintessential easy-to-learn combo character thanks to buffs he deserved) but nothing that's really valid across the board. There are more decent characters that aren't as technical as fox/falco but there are also more decent PM characters that are more technical than Melee marth, shiek, and jiggs (examples being all the double jump cancelling characters). So TLDR it's easier to wavedash in PM but that's about it from my point of view, you still have nearly every melee tech + brawl techs + a heckuva lot more matchups you need to know. At the very least I can in no way see how it's a step down the same way SC2 was a step down from BW. also Soniv I'm afraid tonight's not going to happen, I have to share the TV and it is currently occupied with some kind of drama. | ||

It's frustrating because I can't even watch a good number of streams, because it just says I'm blocked when i'm not watching a streamer with ~1k+ viewers. | ||
