Have to say im a bit sad for Maru. Somehow he has seemed to be even more expressionless and not in the zone as usual. It would be win for everybody if he performed better in these international events.

In Korea, Maru was the big fish in a small pond

But outside Korea he is nothing special. He isn’t a world champion for a reason

Do you ever tire of making asinine pronouncements?

The WC is a gap in his resume, for sure but he’s done everything else there is to do in the game, often multiple times.

It’s less so now obviously, but to be the best in Korea wasn’t to be a big fish in a small pond, but a big fish in the only meaningful pond

Sad for Maru, he shoud've won vs. Serral yesterday and let Serral chew everyone up on knockout to comeback.

Poor Maru. When he's not getting dunked on by Serral, he's getting dunked on by a silly format!

You realize he is the player with the 2nd most Premier Tournament wins? That he plays this game since over a decade on elite level? I guess that this is simply bait.

Clem must now be pretty happy to not face Maru in the Semis.

The troll is clear and obvious. Having said that, Maru has not played to his top-tier standard after his match in day 1. His overall strategy has been about doing the same build (normally greedy), and try to work his way out of it with skills, and it has backfired several times already, against Dark, Serral, Oliveira and Cure.

Team Falcons has no sc2 players right? I don't remember them "partnering" with any starcraft team.

He never has been the clear best when korea was the only meaningful scene tho.
Or maybe at the beginning of 2018 but not for long

Yeah so many either salty or trolls on this topic. I don't even follow SC2 but I know this kid been playing since when FruitDealer's GSL win, at age of 12 or something. You need STFU!

Maru is one of the greatest players but imho will never be the GOAT as he doesn't have the mentality of a champion. Tbh, I doubt very much he cares too much about what other think and he can "comfort" himself with his over $1 mil prize money

Would be great to see Dark/Serral vs herO in the final. Can’t really see Cure taking it, but anyone else has a decent shot.

How many players have been the clear best when korea was the only meaningful scene? I could only think of Inno, Zest and Life but none of them kept it up for a long time either

Agreed. The Twitch chat is also so incredibly annoying with all these balance-whiners, !drop-spammers and player x is washed comments.
Can't we simply appreciate the greatness coming out of these guys? The incredible matches we witnessed...

bo3 elimination matches strikes again. Really bad format for such a big money event.

Well done for Cure but sadly he doesn't stand a chance at beating the later players
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs
