Team League 2020 Second Season Summary

Hello, everyone, I am the manager of DPG and team leader Enchant. Yesterday the second season of the 2020 Golden Team League ended. We lost to AX in the playoffs and failed to make it to the finals.

This result is a bit surprising to us. Let’s talk about the recent state of our four players.

Firefly: Firefly will complete the team's prescribed amount of practice every day. Recently, he has been in a good form. He often won key games for the team during the regular season. The playoffs drew with Zoun 1-1 and completed the task well.

PartinG: PartinG has recently been in a sluggish state, and his physical and mental conditions are not good. Although he maintains a certain ladder practice, physical rehabilitation training takes up most of his energy. For this playoff we only let him prepare for specific confrontations. But unfortunately he didn't get a chance to play

Dark: Dark has always been the hardest working player in our team. He will complete the amount of practice set by the team every day. Recently, he has practiced more than 30 sets a day for the GSL and GTC playoffs. The ladder has also reached nearly 7000 points, but GSL is again being out in the top 16 was a big blow to him and his performance in the playoffs was not ideal.

Cure: Cure was a bit slack after the third season of GSL. After I talked to him, he resumed high-intensity practice, and even beat Serral and Reynor in the KOB game, showing a good competitive state, but his new style of play was exposed too early, and was perfectly solved in the ace match by RNK

Let's talk about yesterday's game. After knowing the opponents, Firefly immediately started to practice and prepare with PartinG. The result was great, and he drew with Zoun 1-1 to complete the task successfully. In the second game, there was no map ban in bo2, so Cure lost one point on the ZVT advantage map picked by RNK, and the score became 1-1. If Cure's loss to Rnk was expected, Dark's loss surprised me. After winning the first map, Dark made the big move of the proxy hatchery and spine crawlers on the map selected by Nice. My understanding is that Dark feels that he has lost to Nice in the regular season on this map, so instead of passive defense, he took the initiative to attack. Dark's has always liked to take the initiative in his own hands. But it’s a pity that this tactic did not work. After the game, Dark told me he's sorry and it was his fault. He was sad. The tactics against nice on the submarine were prepared by him for the gsl against trap. It was not a whim. In the final ACE game Cure vs RNK, Cure used his newly-developed fast 3 base followed by quick-burrow mine drops. This tactic also helped him win the Serral and Reynor streak, but I feel that Rnk already knew the correct way to deal with it. After figuring out the style of the Terran and Protoss, the Zerg player can make targeted defenses. In the end, Cure's harassment play was not effective. Unfortunately, our playoff journey stopped here.

After we lost the playoffs, I saw fans questioning Dark's performance. I want to talk about the Dark players in my eyes as the team manager. Before I took over DPG, I heard some negative news about Dark, but Dark was very polite, obeyed management, and cooperated very well with the team. Our team requires Korean players to train no less than 20 games a day. Replays will be sent to the designated mailbox after the training every day. Dark will send practice videos on time every day, which is the most self-disciplined of all players. In the more than ten days approaching the GSL and GTC playoffs, Dark’s hand injury was a bit recurrent, but he still maintained a training of about 30 sets a day while being treated. During the Korean Mid-Autumn Festival, other players took leave and rest. This is still the case. This is why I trust his strength as a team manager. Whenever he hits an ace game, Dark always says "me gogo" without giving up.

But having said that, although Dark's performance is quite professional, it is an indisputable fact that his performance in the tournaments this year has been getting worse and worse. From the runner-up of the GSL Super Tournament at the beginning of the year to the consecutive top 16 in the second and third seasons of GSL, and then In the team game, he lost to Nice and Zoun, so his next contract is bound to cut his salary.
