Mvp was visible for 1.25 expansions out of 3, being a 'King' in an era with arguably inferior mechanical competition and the lack of KeSPA investment and challenges. Also lost to guys like ToD, Grubby in WCS Europe. While they were great players, they are hardly players you want to lose to if you want to be called a king of sc2. He is the King of wings, but not the king of sc2, not even close. IMO there is no player that can be called 'King of sc2' across 3 expansions, the closest is MMA who I think is still the only player to win championships in all 3 xpacs, but he retired too early in LOTV to be considered a king of all 3 xpacs. The only players that I would say could have been kings of sc2 are: Life if he never screwed himself; Rain if he came earlier in WOL and stayed for LOTV (since he was dominant in one way in the short time that he played in WOL); and any of the WOL greats that still dominate now, like MC, Mvp, but they just couldn't compete against the KeSPA infrastructure. Most players who dominate in sc2 now either came too late to be considered a contender in WOL (Like the KeSPA players Classic, Stats, soO, Dark, Inno), or were only Championship contenders in LOTV (Neeb, Reynor, Serral, TY) However there are kings of each expansion. Mvp/DRG for WOL Life/sOs/Innovation for HOTS Serral/Rogue/Stats/Maru/Innovation for LOTV

Why can't Creighton stream on Twitch at least then, so he can get subscribers and stuff. Or maybe I'm the weird one, and other international viewers have an afreecatv account? Not sure if Creighton is allowed to profit out of broadcasting GSL events, also GSL doesn't have a platform on Twitch, only on YT. So there are many risks that Creighton would be taking for a 'not-so-large' amount of money made in return

It's usually bad form for a content creator to work for free. Generally speaking, it lowers the value of your services overall and reduces the labor value for everyone in your industry. However, I make an exception for working with the GSL. It's an honor for me to collaborate with the premiere Korean Starcraft organization, and I owe my career to them taking a chance on me as a caster last year. Plus, it's nice to give back to the community sometimes with no expectation of a payoff. Also I just fucking love Starcraft.
