Only caught the last game. First 3 games were bad?

Tbh it's been kinda a mediocre build recently. Like most of the time the protoss just holds it off with only a few probes lost and you're really behind. But ofc if you get a dozen probes every game it looks quite good.

Poor Parting, I can actually relate to him a bit.
It seems he prepared a lot for this series. He brought 4 very specific strats to take out TY.
Unfortunately, TY did 3 things that, simply by luck honestly, countered what parting was doing, with the hellion drop comping earlier than Parting's strats. Or the Marauder push.
TY is a great player, but I can understand Parting being in disbelief in how much he prepared and how fast things went wrong. Let's be honest, he could have won some of those games, in most other circumstances he would have.
So I completely understand that he hanged there until the end. It's a shame he lost, but he is still a great player and I wish him luck in his future games.

Yea Parting has talked about it on stream before but winning a GSL is something he wants to do before he retires as a pro gamer and it means a lot to him so im sure these last two seasons(especially season 1) when he gets close to the finals only to lose it really breaks him.

From what I've seen recently you can kill half a dozen probes and still be ahead. A lot of it boils down to the terran's skill in macroing behind it, and saving the medivac to pair it up with marines back at home.

This was TY's first truly notable performance since winning season 1, so it was a bit surprising for him to look as good as he did

God parting looks so sad. This must really suck for him.
He should really stop pulling probes to defend hellions...

TY may not be prepared to Parting's specific builds. But he probably knew Parting had some sharp timing builds prepared, so TY's overall strategy was to be aggressive, seize the initiative from the start, and not let Parting get into any rhythm. Going aggro against Parting is probably a risk that can go horribly wrong. But it's probably unfair to say TY got lucky?

This reminds me of the Cure vs Parting match at HSC 20, where parting died to a few hellions there too. I was really rooting for him, I know he will keep getting better though. Still a strong contender for Season 3, and Super Tournament.

Afreeca torturing me with showing TY fumble the series against Maru 2 years ago

Get in PartinG's face before he got in TY's.

Yea, it's always tough to see the old veteran pro gamer try to win that last tournament. Boxer and Nada both tried in SC2, but neither managed to win a premier. That's why MMA's title at Homestory Cup was so special, because he was one of the few players who got to retire on top.
I always have a soft spot in my heart for those veterans giving it their all

Should be tough for Trap. Stats has won like 13 of his last 14 pvp series.

I'm amazed on how TY methodically beat parting but i'm sad that parting has to hold on to that lucky storms on last game to even it out. I can feel for parting knowing he is really emotional when it comes to defeats and how broken he is on that last game hoping for a glimpse of hope in amidst of despair. Well there's still season 3 for him to win GSL, but he needs to overcome the incredible mind of TYTY first.

Like you can't say it was all luck, he definitely prepared very hard for Parting too. It's just that it seems looking the type of builds they both did, TY one were very effective agaisnt everything Parting did, and a lot of it was circumstantial.
That's not to take away credit from him though. He probably would have won anyway, particularly in the final game he looked great and very precise.

TY is just bad news for Parting.
Parting is the most offensive Protoss on the planet. He can usually mechanically outmuscle patch Terrans with overrated micro like Maru, and stubborn players like Innovation.
But TY has brains and mechanics to back it up. If TY did that stuff to someone like stats or trap it would be bad news (but TY would probably know not to do it against them)
