Really like the Bo2s in round robin format. It's great that we see more and more of that.
Literally half the series in Group A ended in a 1-1 tie. You think that's an improvement on anything?
Yes. I prefer that we get more matchups rather than having to play a third decisive map. It's particularly good when combined with prize money for every map win, like they did at HSC.

I don't see how the Bo2s result in more matchups above and beyond those provided by the round robin format which frequently results in tiebreakers when best of 3s are played. That additional tiebreaker is also significantly less Starcraft than every match that ended with a 1-1 tie getting a third game.

My point is that the Bo2 format makes a round robin shorter, so it is viable in more situations than when it uses Bo3 because then it is often not used because of time constraints. I think RR is a great format because we get to see more players match up.

This. BO2 allows you to do larger round robins and keep it on track and put out a pretty reliable length of stream. 8 BO3s can be 16 maps or 24, which is a huge variance whereas if you know it will be 16 maps only you have much better control on how it is played. In smaller round robins this doesn't matter because there are less matches to cover and the variance is smaller anyways.

Does anyone in the English speaking world use WTL for sports? Because I've literally never seen it in the U.S. up until now. Football and Boxing the only sports where ties or draws are somewhat common.

Wonder if TY will at least play some bio against BreakingGG. He shouldn't need the strongest strategy to win there.

Just so I understand this correctly, the tie breaker is map wins and not matches. So TIME can't win the group by winning all his matches today because he would be 8-2 in maps but went 0-2 against TY who also went 8-2. And since Solar lost a map to TRUE now, he also can at best go 8-2. So depending on the result of TIME vs Solar either TY wins the group or there's a possible tie between Solar and TY.

According to the rumor, if Solar 2-0 Nice, TY has no time to play the tiebreaker. Solar should be the first place.

The tournament is so drawn out they could play the tie breaker any other day but giving 1st to Solar would be easier. But Nice Skytossed him.
Really good performance from BreakingGG I have to say.
