Dark winning all 3 matchups, and beating Reynor this convincing makes me believe he'd beat Serral too today. Deserved winner for sure.

Nah, he would win against the today's Serral.

It probably would not be as one-sided, but Dark was truly the best player today.

Serral has Dark's number, he would have won.
Another sad thing is that's the first time after Serral's ascent that he loses to someone who is not the eventual winner!
Why did you do that to me, Reynor??

Reynor was disappointing, Dark played much better; the man won his BlizzCon after all, gg and deserved! He just reached half of what he said he would win.

The only sad thing about Dark winning is that it will generate so many pointless comments by so many salty elitists here on TL; such a bad sport.

Yeah, some people man... I'd never call anyone a patchzerg

Nonono you see Dark might have clearly been a top 3 Zerg for like the last 4 years who consistently gets top 4 at tournaments and won an SSL but he only ever got second at a GSL or Global Finals until this year so clearly he's a patch zerg

Having someone's number is not very relevant when you make ultralisks in ZvZ 10 minutes after beating ultralisks in ZvZ.

What did you just say? Serral doesn't have Reynor's number; it's quite the opposite, unfortunately.

From watching Reynor all year, his play always seems to be a notch above when he plays against Serral. Serral seems more consistent, always playing roughly the same level regardless of his opponent, while Reynor is more emotional. Playing Serral is probably the most exciting thing to him, especially because he feels free to dictate the pace. It gives him an edge. But, he isn't used to playing Dark as much. He's now playing the way Serral would, sitting back and absorbing anything while Dark takes initiative. Except Serral's slightly better at it than Reynor is, and Reynor's just barely not good enough to hold it all off. Dark has the advantage for the rest of the series, unless Reynor activates a superpower with his back against the wall. Let's see.

100% agree. Its kinda funny altough Reynor might seem like a normal good player with lots of mistakes in earlier rounds, whenever he meets Serral his play elevates a few notches and he seems to be one of the best in the world. Serral however is a lot more consistent at least for now and his play doesnt get affected much by who he is facing against. Thats why I was more sad that Serral didnt get into the finals. Dark has been playing super good and it would have been fun to see how those two best players in the world would collide.

GG Dark ! Well played !

I think because Serral chose to practice with last two days before. You must never practiced against your opponents before the matches. .
