Let us look back to the guy who first mentioned this, who thought it was totally BTTV's fault. Obviously, it's really PR disaster to SCBOY because more and more people know this disgraceful thing.
Although I come from East Asian Continent, I won't use such reason, like culture different to defend SCBOY if I want to. No copyright awareness was no copyright awareness. At least, they have the broadcast rights and do something good to SC2.
I did not state it was BTTV's fault. In fact I think their reaction was justified and it was not cool for SCboy to simply assume everyone is OK with their restreaming (although the vast majority of Starcraft streamers were OK with it), it was what happened AFTER that is not appropriate (not going to elaborate and escalate this further, those who saw it know what I'm talking about). I got them together for a talk and SCboy wholeheartedly apologized and both parties agreed to move on, it really should be forgotten as an unfortunate incident and subsequently SCboy has mandated that all their broadcast and content will be fully permitted by the right holders. With respect, I can't understand why you mentioned emotionally this old story? No any benefit to SCboy. I think the previous poster wasn't nice to mention it, as I don't want this to escalate (that didn't work obviously). Enough bridges have been burnt from that and it benefits nobody to stir it.

Season 2 is already in, and both seasons are sponsored by one of their co-investors which is wealthy enough to own a multi story shopping mall so it's like chop change for him lol. Plus they have other sponsors like one of the biggest food delivery services in China and a top tier appliances maker.
For what I heard, season 1 test run and fully funded by Blizzard China/Netease, which the purpose is to show the potential how big the Chinese SC2 community and market would be for any further teams and sponsors. Season 2 would be sponsored by some old sponsors, such as Alienware, ele.me, and the wealthy billionaire you just mentioned who is also brother-in-law of xiaose, one of the scboy.

So what you're saying is the Chinese community has their own version of Emil Sorry, I do not understand "Emil" you mentioned
Emil is a Polish caster and in the past he used to lag in matches pretty often, so people would say "emil pls" etc. Nowadays I think his connection is better but the joke stayed and every time there is lag people will just say it's probably emil

In my opinion, this "retire" is the same as Snute, White-Ra and so on. If he can still be in Top 16 in China, he will continue participating in the matches, won't he?

Of course. He would still play SC2, and participate any individual tournament if there's a chance and play sniper duel at Dust II against F91, but he would let other team member to participate the team league, and he will not exercise as hard as before. Anyway, he have prove to be good as manager and good luck for him.

1.I have withdrawn the comment I made with regard to basetrade tv. It is rather inappropriate and controversial. In retrospect, I feel sorry for the comments I made. Also, I am sorry for the late response I made. (I didn't get how to edit my comments) 2.Latest Update of JAGW: A court in Incheon sentenced 45-yr-old Cho Hyun-ah (I don't know whether it is the right spelling) to 8 months in prison with a probation of one year due to smuggling. Cho was charged with smuggle luxury with Korean Airlines' airplanes, together with her mother, who was also sentenced to 6 months in prison with probation. I don't know what would be the impacts of the management of Jinair, which is a subsidiary of Korean Airlines, may face fierce pressure in the future. As a 'dead game' in Korea, Jinair may dismiss their Starcraft e-sports team, JAGW.

XIAOSE confirmed it in stream, just not confirmed from the team itself. I remembered TEAM TOP quit at the beginning and said they would come back in season 2. If so, it is very possible to be over 10 teams.

Jieshi joined LP and Cyan joined the new team Brave Star with Hurricane and Dream, so there will be no more Team Top. There is rumor that a new team KZ gaming would be formed by some rich guys, but I wonder whether it is a joke or they would consider it seriously.

According to XIAOSE. SOO are the rich guys' potential target. They even want to buy Maru, but the contract will expire in November.
