He lost a close Ro32 match against Classic, and while Serral has improved his position since the vote with this HSC victory, so has Classic with another GSL round of 4. So I don't think it would necessarily have changed that match. Serral did perhaps get a bit unlucky bracket wise, but so have a number of other players.

However his results startet showing in 2018 while other players (Classic, Stats, Inno, etc.) were successful years before him. Had this TLGOAT thread been made a year later, who knows maybe Serral would be #1.

Rain, Stats, Hero, MC, and Parting might all be above him. Classic has a lot of hardware, dating as far back as 2014. A GSL, an SSL, 2 ST, an IEM, 3 premier silvers. that's more hardware than Rain, with more longevity. hero has 3 weak IEMs, and nice but unremarkable Korean placing. MC has 2 Gsl and a weakass EU. a red bull? that's less than classic has done. Parting has 2 premier wins, no GSLs, and longevity, but not much else. Classic has had himself a really nice career.

If he repeats his run last year with an equally impressive accomplishment, (lets say winning Blizzcon, HSC 20, GSL vs the world, all WCS stops, and the Asus) he's probably the GOAT

If he only won blizzcon and then hopped over to Korea to get a GSL I'd instantly out him as the GOAT.

I'm also fairly certain that right now his fans care far more about him being the GOAT than he himself does.

What a relief to see another Classic fan, greatest protoss in my opinion. Classic is still heavily underestimated and he has been for his whole career, Stats in the only one that can reasonably be argued to be ahead of him if you ask me. Still besides Taeja and Nestea I think this BO8 looks pretty good

But none of them is a top 10 Player anyway imo. Bracket luck worked in their favor.
