2018 OSC Changes:

As this is posted, we are coming towards the end of our 2017 Championship (featuring the top 50 players who acquired points from 550+ events in 2017), however, even while that's been going on, the team have been working hard behind the scenes to launch season 2018 and go again, with some exciting changes! All your favourite partnered events should be back bigger and better than ever, with a few new cups coming too!
Working closely with players and teams, we are pleased to see it’s becoming more common practice for teams to incorporate OSC Rankings and participation into player salaries/bonuses, and after such a successful 2017, we hope to see this continue! With that said (and with the implementation of free to play), in 2018 we want to create incentives for new players to play and watch the sport, so have come up with flights and accommodation prizes that everyone has a chance at winning, with the aim of achieving our goal!
We're again committed to putting on an ongoing narrative for players to compete in and fans to follow and enjoy in 2018
Season 2018 starts Monday, Jan 15 2:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) with OSC Melee #19!

Player Participation Changes:
Every Player, regardless of region now earns the same participation points per OSC Partnered Tournament (2.5)
Participation Competition no longer gives out $'s to the top 5-8 players from every region every 6 months.

We are going to replace regional 6 monthly participation prizes with a 6 monthly lottery draw.
(January-June + July-December)
Players earn tickets by playing in OSC Partnered Tournaments. Additional tickets are earned the more you play!
We hope this will encourage amateurs to play more and allow them a chance to compete in this competition against semi pros and pros (who are paid to play OSC, and can rack up big tournament participation totals), who were hard to match/catch up against in the 2017 version.

As part of the OSC re-brand in quarter 4 of 2017, we launched our OSCesports Twitch Channel. We believe we've assembled a great selection of regular and guest casters, who can help us provide daily content on the channel, and are really pleased by what we have all achieved in such a short amount of time.
We're already twitch partnered, and have passed some nice milestones, so are excited what we can do over a whole year in 2018. Current schedule has 44 minimum events on the channel each month, but this may well increase. We hope to make OSCesports a consistent and enjoyable place for all to enjoy SC2, and want to offer some cool rewards to the community who help us grow the channel.
