Group stage vs. Saudi-Arabia 8:0 vs. Ireland 1:1 vs. Cameroon 2:0 Elimination bracket vs. Paraguay 1:0 vs. USA 1:0 vs. South Korea 1:0 Germany's team back then mostly consisted of some of the worst players, who've ever made it to the national team plus some excpetional heroes like Kahn and Ballack. Talk about bracket luck and "rigged brackets" again. Special beat two of the best players of the world to reach the RO8. Him getting first made it more likely to being matched against another foreigner. No big deal. | ||
