IMO it's not that storms themselves are "OP" but that storms + anything else tends to be very very strong when you get there even if you go back to the swarm host era of hots, what a lot of people failed to understand was that one of the big reasons swarm hosts dominated protoss was because they were the only way to counter templar on lair tech due to the way locusts zoned them out storm is a really cool tech and so are templar, i would hate to ever see them nerfed out of viability, but they just create so much synergy and defensive potential against low tech armies | ||

Boils down to the problem that air armies are to strong in sc2. | ||

PvZ today is nothing like that. banelings as well as fast storm were never played in HotS he was saying unit comp is different but storm always seemed to put the nail in the coffin for zerg, which is true - when hots pvz was colossus meta the finishing blow was not a colossus allin, it was getting to storm and keeping enough army alive so you can crush roach hydra viper. blink stalker sentry was a meta that involved protoss often taking a big advantage or trying to win before templar tech, but when hydra ling became the popular counter, yes, storm was still the final tech used to finish wins against zerg when games went longer into macro | ||
