Byun looked less convincing than TY and INno I'd say. And aLive played pretty fantastic throughout. But yeah I agree with your point, he's not leading the field like Mvp could do back in the day. Yeah ByuN is still really good but look at him vs Stats compared to these finals. No comparison.

In his day they had like 7 GSLs a year though. It's less about the number of tournaments or prize money than how dominant a player is. There was a point in time where MVP had no equal. Picking between Byun, Innovation, and TY seems a toss up based on the tournament. That's because the lvl of competition back then was questionable at best compared to later ![]()

Oh for sure this tournament Byun was worse. But it's only been a few months since Byun took all comers. I'm not counting him out yet. Gyeonggi was excusable, GSL because of nerves, but now Katowice too? Three strikes and you're out. ByuN is still really, really good don't get me wrong, but he doesn't have TY's TvP or Inno's TvZ and his TvT is awful. TY has best TvP. Inno has best TvZ. Everyone's (TY, Inno, aLive, Gumiho even) TvT is pretty close.

Because of this Terran dominance we didn't get to see much of their non TvT matchups. TY is obviously very good at TvP and TvT but innovation looked very good in TvZ.

It amuses me greatly that INno is proving me right about how he's a choker, despite so many people telling me otherwise last year. ?? TvT is super coinflippy. Just look at TY, winning two series 3-2. aLive won 3-2 and lost 2-3. Inno losing 2-3 after stomping Ryung 3-0 in no way proves he is a choker.
