Do they take the trophy home?
Yes they do, you can see trophy cabinets in their streams. I've seen Classic's and Inno's. Oh yeah for IEM you get your name engraved. Pretty sure you get a replica though because I remember Zest with one in Korea (I think it was in his road to blizzcon video)?

sOs-2014 IEM WC champion Zest-2015 IEM WC champion
Stats you didn't bring this IEM WC championship to Aiur, I will never trust you again. But thank god, sOs will finally complete the grand slam three weeks later.

if TY makes 500k this year, technically he made up for 10 years of winning no championship

Now his run really reminds me of Zest's in 2015. Unconvincing throughout the whole thing with a lot of questionable games, but absolutely on fire during the finals.

It's less about the number of tournaments or prize money than how dominant a player is. There was a point in time where MVP had no equal. Picking between Byun, Innovation, and TY seems a toss up based on the tournament.

Do they take the trophy home? Otherwise, where would the trophy go? I could be wrong, but normally, it goes to the team house, but he is team-less, right? often the actual trophy doesn't get to be taken home but just a smaller replica
dunno if that's the case with this one tho

So happy for TY,also extremely well played series by Stats. IEM Katowice delivered amazing emotions this time!

Carmac so fucking late with the replay pack, let's riot!

Was TY that unconvincing though?

When were the Widow Mines an important part of ANYTHING that happened in this series? TY didn't even need them to make that last push work, one more Siege Tank would've accomplished the same thing. Hm this liberator tank combination on these short spawns are overpowered. Nerf the widow mine. Solar are you David Kim? Yea that push was so overpowered that Stats absolutely squashed it in game 6. (also on short spawns btw) TY made the adjustment of adding a fucking Raven in Game 7 and that was the main difference. But let's pretend that a SINGLE Liberator is enough to make a Liberator/Tank combination an overpowered tactic. I think the lib has a lot more problems than any other single unit in T's arsenal. I think the same on a lot of the units in LotV though. And short spawn cactus*
Well at least we agree on something. (LoTV units)
If you want to argue a push is overpowered on a single map or one or two maps, that is quite different from saying it's overpowered in general or in a general set of spawn points.
Map specific pushes are supposed to be a thing in Starcraft aren't they? Or is it fun that we have to use the exact same set of standard tactics on every map focusing on late game scenarios in every game?
TY found a timing attack that worked on Stats who crushed every other Terran player he played in this tournament, but let's keep calling imba imba imba instead of giving a player credit for developing a tactic that won him a tournament. He won in a close 4-3 in a seven game series against a guy who has been dominating Terrans left and right lately, let's not pollute that with poorly constructed balance complaints.

So he took Zest's horcrux, it all makes sense now.

I agree with the dominance bit (though MMA and Polt were up there too).
But TY and Inno seem to be clearly superior (right now) to ByuN and Maru imo.

This tournament was better than blizzcon tbh

Picking between Byun, Innovation, and TY seems a toss up based on the tournament. Byun looked less convincing than TY and INno I'd say. And aLive played pretty fantastic throughout. But yeah I agree with your point, he's not leading the field like Mvp could do back in the day.

Has to be the worst map score for a tournament win too 7-6, 3-1, 3-2, 3-2, 4-3
