Stupid Saturday start times! I'll vod it up but it should be clear cut Maru and herO here. Gumiho loses alot online in the cups and is up and down in results. Nightmare is the unknown quantity but unless he is REALLY good then i can't see him posing any problems.

I think herO has a pretty good shot, he went 5-6 against Inno yesterday and he had like 8 different builds. Maru is really strong obviously (Maru currently has the highest MMR in the world). And even though I have a very high opinion of GuMigod, he has some losses recently against Protoss in online cups (vs Billowy and Creator) that make me think herO should advance for sure.

It wasn't true at all, marine/tank vs marine/tank was all about outmanoeuvring your opponent, bio vs mech was about this and engagements. Nowadays the introduction of the liberator brings an easy way to play around air superiority anyway.
Medivac boost fucked TvT by making not only dropping really easy (like in every T match up) but doom dropping way too strong for a match up that was supposed to be positioned based.

Except for the most extreme balance problems (Blord/infestor, hellbats, swarmhost and adepts) everything else could have been balanced with maps after the queen buff. Would require less hearthstone activity by the balance team tho.

Sure, but at that point its hard to blame Blizzard for missing on maps. Both the community and the top mapmakers missed completely on the fact that Apotheosis was completely broken too, and Apotheosis' problems are extremely obvious in hindsight (much more so than the issues with New Gettysburg, and Galactic Process for that matter). Though there are maps like Prion Terraces, and Central Protocol that are so obviously awful that you can blame Blizzard for that I suppose.

this is the middle ground, 6 years of KR events at the same time and now every other group is earlier in 2017. Fine by me, NA have been watching sc2 at this timeslot for years

At least that's only for 1 out of 2 broadcasts a week for you. Being an NA fan with a day job sucks all the time. EU/KR tournaments are either really late or really early and the NA tournaments start at my lunch break.
No matter what time the event starts no one is going to be 100% happy about it but I think that NA fans have long been neglected with start times of major events over the years.

I was watching it live on Twitch. Got over 11K viewers so it was a good turnout thanks to the better timeframe for NA folks. Also, all matches were amazing.
You guys can't have it all you know. The Wednesday broadcast is more EU-friendly and the Saturday one is more NA time-wise. So that is as good as it gets.

The European fans who don't want to get up at 5 AM (4 in the UK) on a Saturday. If it was Friday at 5 AM it would actually not be as annoying for EU but they went with Saturday instead.
