Sick players and games but it seems very chaotic in organization and casting but what's really disapointing is the lack of Vods! This Cup is running at the worst possible time for EU.

Often times the advantage is that the player from the winner bracket starts the series up 1-0. But in this case the advantage was that ByuN only had to win 1 series while KeeN had to win 2. You could see it kind of like a beach volleyball match. ByuN won the first set by default by coming through the winner bracket. KeeN won the second set with his stellar play. Then ByuN won the final, shorter set, meaning ByuN is the overall winner.

This Cup is running at the worst possible time for EU. Probably one of the best organized events I've broadcast. Considering it's size, we had very minimal downtime throughout the entire event and EVERY series was broadcast. Final day broadcast from my channel : https://www.twitch.tv/wardiii/v/113157750 I'm sure you can find the same on Gauntlet Twitch etc

Just make the cut-off at the 32nd player and then make it a 32-man bracket with Double-elim. You can seed every player based off of their OSC rank, just to give it a bit more value, but I really dislike seeding players further up a bracket based off of something like the OSC points. And seeding into loser's bracket is pretty lame as well. I think that's okay if they actually lose a game in the tournament, but if they are just seeded there because of points..? Meh. But it's the OSC Championship, the whole point is that this is a large event that wraps up a year of competition. I feel like the points really achieved what they set out to do - rewarding players who had success throughout the year in OSC. People who won a couple of events and scraped into the championship? They can still win, but they have to have a crazy good run in order to do so. If they don't? They still leave with some prize money. Players who played a lot of events through the year and placed highly? They earn a second life (winner bracket) and the very best started further in the bracket. It's a system that rewards players who have had an influence on the system throughout the year by participating and achieving. There is a huge difference to players like ByuN and even KeeN. ByuN won 33 tournaments and earned $15000+ through the OSC system through the year, while KeeN won 9 tournaments and only $2100. For me it makes sense that ByuN gets an advantage in the championship which is meant to be the grand finale of these achievements. The part I really liked is that this format truly felt like a championship. We built our way up through the qualifying groups over four days watching a wide variety of players battling each other. We had the intense playoff matches as players clawed for a place in the championship bracket. Then we had the grueling bracket itself, which was long and intense, but really did pay off. It was fun and really felt so different to any other event I have cast in a long time. Imo it's biggest flaw was that it is confusing to those unfamiliar with OSC and the fact it's a large point system, and it's not easy to understand who goes where in the event without that.
