Oh yeah, I'm not too surprised at the results at all, and him winning this tournament won't automatically place him at #1 or anything. I figured he would be more chaotic and show more scattershot play that would, everything else being equal, probably get him into the finals with this bracket; but instead he showed a lot more consistent cleverness and a lot more raw skill than I expected and that his position probably warrants. I'm not sure if this is a run of good form or if it's actually what we can expect from him on a consistent basis - and no matter what happens that can't be proven because of how fucking wonky his bracket is - but I definitely didn't expect this level of consistency from him.
Presuming he wins the tournament over Neeb in the finals, this is his bracket based entirely on results (presuming closer series) and not on play, which is what actually surprised me.
Ro32 over Snute : good result, but snute did under perform big against Guru last time, so not too big of a surprise
Ro16 over Harstem : Harstem underperformed big and has yet to show up to a WCS in good form, no surprise
Ro8 over Welmu : Player who relied on surprise to take upsets, TRUE knows what's up, no surprise
Ro4 over HeRoMaRinE : Player who relied (somewhat) on surprise/TvT to take upsets, TRUE can expect it, no surprise
Ro2 over Neeb : Historically bad in finals, chokes a lot, gets very nervous, not much of a surprise
A championship for TRUE with everything else being equal and TRUE being a more inconsistent player would still be totally possible, and doesn't even disqualify his placement in my PR imo. It's more his play and the skill he showed that makes me rethink his placement; him and PtitDrogo are the only people who would get a significant bump from the play they showed.

You cannot keep marine at the level it is right now and have mech be strong at the same time, unless you have terrans sign some sort of Geneva convention that they won't use both at the same time.
What the fuck are you on? Going mech and also doing marines would be like the worst shit ever because you need to research upgrades for both paths, make both raxes and factories and still try to actually get a good enough eco rolling.

If we didn't enjoy the game i really don't think we'd be on TL posting and watching the games. Apart from maybe a couple exceptions of course.
People get salty when their players or races lose to nasty looking builds, as it has always been.
That said, fuck Protoss.

Meh, it's a sentiment I see with bigger people than just random trolls on the interwebs, although perhaps I expressed it at a relatively insignificant thing. Just know - no matter how dark and dim it might seem sometimes, Starcraft is alive. Young, new people are still in the scene, and still loving every second it. I think I'm proof enough of that

It is true ofc that there are people expressing their opinions about Starcraft in a very negative way but I often get the feeling people who respond to them make the thread look worse than it really is. Often when I check the legitimacy of such a response I count very little actual whining. Don't get me wrong, there certainly is whining but it's often a lot less than people make it out to be.
Edit: It would be nice if people would just respond to the post(s) they have a problem with and not make a general one that declares the whole threat invalid.

people in general "whine" because they care about the game. I think lotv does have a lot of very questionable things going on and hope this will change. If you think it's already as good as it could be that is fine, but not everybody feels that way and saying who is right or wrong about this is rather difficult (impossible?)

After watching Neeb's pvz I dont feel that salty about Hydra's loss. Adepts have become ridiculous and there is a need for changes asap. I didnt watch much of the broodlord infestor era but I bet it was not as bad as the Adepts.

How shit is that? Just being able to repeatedly do the same build on a map with no deeper thought because you know it'll probably win. I haven't watched a lot of starcraft since the HoTS days and it just seems that adepts have turned a lot of average protoss players into very good protoss players.
