If there would be like 25 koreans on 100 foreigners, foreigners would improve in the long run. That's simply not true. You don't need these way better players dropped into your scene to improve it. A scene has to start somewhere and if there are enough players in that scene willing to compete and motivated to get better than the whole scene will get better in the long run. Korea got to where it's at right now because some guys started it, not because some aliens dropped there training them. You will always have better and worse players in a scene and as long as the worse players are motivated to catch up the whole scene will get better. Koreans are the fastest at improving, but catching up is definitely a lot easier when somebody can show you how to play. You don't let phelps swim vs 6 year old children and expect from them to be motivated to beat him. You let them compete vs each other where the competition is actually fair. Yes i compared foreigners to 6 year olds Phelps is never going to come here. He still wins against the best, he doesn't need to go to the 6-year-olds pool. This is an argument FOR region locking btw, i am on your side I'm against any form of region locking. I dislike how this community is mad for letting Blizzard change the 92% lock to a 96% lock and is now shitting on foreigners because of that meaningless change, when it was the same community that pushed to get us to the 92% lock in the first place. Why would it be the same people who pushed for region lock that are now complaining about it? They aren't. People aren't pushing for a return to 2013, they're pushing for a return to 2015, which is senseless. There is no rational reason to be mad at 2016 if you were fine with 2015. Eh, personally at least I watched some of the WCS games in 2015. I haven't even bothered to watch most of the weekend tournaments outside of a few specific players I care about in 2016. I've even been skipping the finals lately. This DH is probably the most I've watched a WCS tournament this year. I'd say 2015 was better.
Well, you do yourself. But there is still no rational reason why watching an event with 7 koreans is inherently better than watching an event with 4 koreans.

I feel like I'd be one of those guys who somehow gets onto the powerrank since SOMEBODY'S gotta be the worst of the the bunch, and I'd get a sentence or two, keeners would be like "oh yeah Dougler is a person" most would be like nope, never heard of him. And then they'd move on to the next person, but meanwhile I'd be beaming and be like buddies check it! I made the TLLR Power Rank! And they'd be like "what's this?!" And I'd be like "ONLY THE MOST EPIC SHITPOSTING POWER RANK RELATED TO SC2" and they'd be like "oh... I guess that's a thing". And just like that my life would have meaning. Sure. I'm also game to add on SetGuitarsToKill. Oh for sure. SGTK way outranks me. Dude's a LR legend. I wonder if he's actually AT this Dreamhack since he's not in this thread and I think he's from Ontario or Quebec somewhere. check his twitter, he's already gotten selfies with Scarlett, Tasteless and ZG I just had dinner with a few of them too
The man, the myth, the legend himself!!

My first response to this was, "life hacks".
Then I realized you don't need a life to do that.
Or hacks.

Can I say something though? I really miss Neoghaleon55 (I think his name was something like that. World's biggest DRG fan), and also Gheed (of probe rush fame). I still check to see if Gheed has a new blog out every now and then.
Edit: They were from the earlier days. But still, in terms of legacy, they're up there.

In 2015 Koreans were still allowed at weekenders though, they're not the same. So we could use this community's wonderful voice to pressure the organizers into having more global events. Your problem is solved. We could convince them to have more small invitationals. But not global WCS events. Those are too expensive. Well if we are going to use the communities voice to bully, why not bully err pressure them into just lowering the requirements and then having like 3-4 global events, some of the IEMs could be global events if you just lower the extreme and unachieveable requirements We can pressure for invitationals this year, we can only pressure for a requirement change for next year.
Would be easier to do if this was the message of the community, instead of "foreigners suck, welfare, Blizzard sucks blblbl", which I'm not sure is making Dreamhack and ESL reconsider very hard their decision to do less SC2 in the first place
