sounds like the game worked how the game is programmed to work because this wasnt actually a draw Or it wouldn't have been if Strange had the balls to go kill him with the units he has. But if he was aware of the timer, that means he accepted the game would end in a tie. the question is: will Polt demonstrate enough balls to forfeit this game, because he lost it fair and square. Not according to the engine. ![[image loading]](http://i38.tinypic.com/2uerzmw.gif) hurr durr the engine is planet Earth's physics, get over it (that goal was never disallowed)! Right? Now do you wanna play the game or pick funny excuses? Polt played for the draw and Strange gave him enough time to get there. That's a legitimate move in a game of Starcraft, and apparently Dreamhack hadn't accounted for this. Polt playing out the re-game was not a show of poor sportsmanship.
This, oh this!!

fnatic had to give up her game vs LDLC when they abused pixelboosts with olof on Overpass. I believe the "anti ladder statemate" timer shouldnt be a WCS rule and is not in the rulebook, is it? Polt could have agreed that it was a loss as it was. He would have lost the marines + building. In my book; bad admin call and worse decision by Polt to take the rematch.
Simply not very mannered.

That goal shoul've been disallowed since there's a foreign object interfering with the play. There's no comparison between that situation and this one. The simple fact of the matter is that the in-game rules made this a draw, Unless there's something written in the WCS rules about a situation such as this, a draw is the only fair ruling since both players saw the timer.

hmm.... He lost to Firecake the other week, but this is still a good point

Because playing for a draw never before had a designer-put countdown in the game. I will put it like this:
The 3 minute timer could have forced Strange to rush things and actually make him lose the game while a slow methodical play got him the win yet Blizzard and Dreamhack decided he didnt win.

He would not have been in that position if the timer wasn't there. He would've played completely different if the goal was to kill voidray/assimilator and not waste 3 minutes

Polts actions in the game have been focused arround the timer. You can either replay from the first show of the timer or simply rematch the game. But just giving strange the win is not the right way.
In CS:GO there is a specific rule "pixelwalks are forbidden". In Starcraft there is not.

I don't see it that way. The timer is part of the game, a part of the game that Strange saw and realized, and he misplayed around it. He saw and was aware of this possibility of losing, and he misplayed anyway. If you want this to not happen in the future, make a rule about it.

Unless there IS a rule in the WCS rulebook this is the only fair decision. You can't decide against a regame because of what you feel is fair. Both players saw the timer and presumably played out the game with it in mind. That's all that matters.
