Aww, they cut out one of my favorite bits of the group selection. When herO told Dream and Dark to beg so he takes them out of their teamkill and Dark goes "I came here to win. Next season, I'm going to be the top seed and pay you back. I won't beg."

so I knew that ultras can win you a game from way behind in ZvT, didn't know that it was possible in ZvZ too. Even if Losira doesn't win this, it's impressive that he took this back to a somewhat close game in the first place

I don't think he ever got it back to being close to be honest.

"curious is just behind in every way" 40 drones for curious to 33 for losira
wolf was doing that thing again where he starts ranting about how one player is so far ahead and doesn't actually pay attention to what's happening while he's talking

So it turns out being ahead in drones didn't really help in this situation.

"He's got almost double the army supply" (was almost +50% supply)
On April 06 2016 19:05 Charoisaur wrote: didn't know fast 3 hatch is a thing in zvz
it's counterintuitive because you would think "more minerals in lotv = more lings early = greed doesn't work" but actually because of larva rates it can be pretty difficult to get aggressive against 3 hatch without going something like blind 13/12 or at least 17/17. they also like to do it on prion because of the double gold obviously
if you don't kill the 3 hatch player before they can get a baneling nest or a ling swell out they can rely on triple hatch larva and skip one or two queens and still be ahead in production. also there's a nice mindgame you can do on many maps that makes your opponent unsure if you went 3 hatch or speed expand

that doesn't change whether he was right about "being ahead in every way"
that's the thing about zerg, if he instantly makes a shitload of drones right after losing them and you don't do a killing push then sometimes harassment doesn't actually add up to that much

But your army will bigger cause ememy must spent larvar for drone.

Losira was dead for the longest time in game 1 so it wasn't even that interesting.
The good part of the game should not be devaluated by the death animation being too long I liked the aggresive lurkers and overseer snipes, it was a really good show what you can do. Also the muta use was pretty good, not wasting them on "harrass", but consistently preventing 4th.

I agree about the lurkers and overseeer snipes. He used his mutas well ofc, but it's not like that was something never seen before either.
It was still a good game but Losira took so long to die.

Doesn't seem like that great of a master plan.

Yeah but whoever takes 2nd has to play the winner of Group D. So most likely Dear or TY. I'm not sure you want to have either of your players be the sacrificial lamb.

The master plan best hope for Taeja to beat Zest or it is all in vain.

Teamkills are unpredictable, one of them has to end 2nd anyway, it is probably better to place there the better player(Dark).

The plan is to get both players to advance, a new master plan will take care of the future victims
I like how dark played that out despite being ever so slightly behind after the early game. Letting Curious throw away zerglings until he knew he could do that massive counterattack and flip the game upside down.

But what will happen when the Zergs figure out how to beat Terrans?

Right now is no reason to balance the game. Let them figure the game out, they were stating the exactly same thing the last half of year for PvZ where Protoss players kept around 40 % win rate Let them enjoy the fun, I say! Yay!
Somehow, I hoped, Dark will win both GSL and SSL to show a good fight in the cross finals. So that they might say: "Ehm, well, somehow we are not going to organize the Dark vs. darK match and instead, we will arrange a second hot6ix cup for all players.

lmao. these predictions (bar losira 2-0'ing Dream) are quite reasonable nevertheless.
Ah what a great day! great to see Dream doing well and now at least 4 T in GSL Ro8. Losira doing the throwback and with a fun game or two at that. Over-rated Dark getting a correction.
I don't play SC2 I just watch it as a spectator as a former BW player.. not enough time for me to get into the game. It's very fun to watch these high level games though. I made an account just now because I saw a lot of you guys calling Dark 'overrated' . To be fair, you're talking about the highest level players in the world in the round of 16, anything can happen.. I consistently see the commentators just picking the favored guy and saying he's going to dominate and get out easily every time and it's a tad frustrating, you can't underestimate anybody when you get this deep. These top zergs have some immaculate micro (even Curious had some decent micro in the first few games)..
Anyway, not that the statement of a guy who doesn't play the game is worth much, but I thought I'd chime in and provide a different perspective.. The only guy who looks completely unbeatable right now is Zest.
This is roughly how I expected the group to go, except I thought that curious would be pulling the losira. How did losira look? Was it just ZvZ or did he actually look good?

It was just a ZvZ. I would say he got lucky, but maybe Dark just played bad.
I'm sure others have had this complaint before, but Tastosis IS GSL. To have 2 round of 16 matches in a row without them...can't they just negotiate schedules with other leagues so they can cast?
Great seeing these old players still have it. Yeah yeah he's probably going to die to whoever he gets but I don't care. I hate the new nydus but at least it saved Losira today.
With Dark's fall there goes the possibility of another dual starleague finalist and possibly winner this season.

Awful ZvT, unstable ZvZ. Losira's been like this forever. Lots of bizarre and outright bad moves but some moments of brilliance as well backed up with solid macro.
My heart grew 2x larger because Dream made it out. My heart then shattered into a thousand pieces because Dark failed to make it through. Why do SKT players torment me like this...?
Even though I think losira played pretty well in these last series, I'm sure he's gonna be an easy walkover for whoever comes first of group D (most likely TY)

Yeah, it's super sad to not see Tastosis casting GSL and even sadder to see NEITHER of them casting a ro16 night. I'm sure there are reasons they can't do much about, but damn, it really makes a difference.

It looks that both Zerg projects are failing. Dark looked unshakable and he didn't delivered and soO... let's say that the project is paused
who cares about losira. has he ever even won anything? i mean, other than one of the worst one sided stomping by nestea in gsl finals? startale curious, now there's a great guy who dared to be more than just a gatekeeper, stuck around, and eventually won an actual tournament.

You'll say the same about Losira once he wins his tournament, stuck around and did it!
