It would be like saying that a PvZ WoL game was close, but then suddenly, the Zerg hatched BLs and infestors and it swung heavily into his favour. Both games were even up to the point where Nerchio started falling apart to drops. Really just came to Nerchio's inferior multitasking. Yes. There were moments were Nerchio got significant leads but his attempts to counter and win a game were shut down by Polt always dropping. In my opinion it was close because Polt was one mistake short from loosing matches. But on the other hand, he never did those mistakes so it's fair for someone else to say it was straightforward.

That probably depends on your definition of even. A game doesn't seem even to me when one side has a great potential to swing it to their favour very shortly. It's like real life, when considering a person's worth, you should take into account their debts and investments. The game would have been even if they had compatable armies, ecos AND Nerchio had a good anti-drop settings.

Potential does not make wins, unfortunately.
Sure Polt was and is one of the best players whom ever touch SC2, sure Hydra is a beast (and an SC1 champion btw), but even with new WCS rules, foreigners doesn't shine so much. The WCS Global is going to be brutal.

Anyway, Nerchio played an excellent tournament and losing to Polt is not a shame ... he has beaten sOs in the last big online tournament (even when sOs was playing in the middle of the new year's night) ... It was just stupid that in the RO32 and RO16 of the tournament, both the casters and the players were saying: 'I made several mistakes, but fortunately, the opponent has made several mistakes as well", then you laugh about the "best player's in the world" ...

supply block doesn't matter that much, what matters is that Snute has 0 vision now

I can respect the way Nerchio lost, too- it fits with his style and Polt's style, and didn't come off as him choking or playing like shit or making dumb mistakes but rather his style just not working against a well-prepared and brilliantly playing Polt. I thought he'd put up a better fight to make it scrappier, but still. v0v

Absolutely.
If he can grab this win and make a good season after that, it will push him in the same tier as Naniwa and Stephano.

I like the idea from Snute but will he hold the counter push ?

Nah, it won't. NaNiwa's still ahead by a pretty huge amount, and neither Polt nor Hydra nor viOLet are really world-class (except maybe Polt) while NaNiwa's ahead by like.. 10-12 world-class players defeated or something. He'd need a RIDICULOUS year to catch NaNi.
(got stu to do the math)
