I don't think I could micro properly with a towel over my mouse.

MVP had a partnership with TL and Dignitas, so they added TaeJa/HerO/Seed to their roster. They didn't have anything with Invasion eSport.

He was great vs T, awful vs everything else. So in 2014 proleague terms he should only be played vs KT and Jin Air.

Not so weird. The only teams that are really dependant on their terrans this round are Jin Air, SKT and SBENU. Samsung and MVP have decently terran heavy rosters, but not to the point where they require terrans to really dominate, and KT just fields one terran per match.

I would disagree and say that you have to play the right players against Flash and TY even if they aren't in form right now.
I can see where you're coming from. Flash seems to be recovering some of his form and TY usually wins the rare times he is played recently. I still don't think the have the strength of their 2014 selves that required an excellent vT sniper like 2014 effort.

Honestly, most that I remember from that tournament is 1) Polt killing nexus after nexus and 2) Jaedong playing against 30844 soultrains.
Oldschool Jaedong in WCS yesterday, oldschool HerO in Proleague today, jjakji playing like a true GSL champion, GuMiho beating MMA. The blast from the past is real.

This whole fame is actually about Hero's runbys. DRG is still starved for minerals even 34 minues into the game, if he had money, he would cover the whole map in spores and won with vipers.

Because when you make one single mistake you should be chain stunned to the ground and have your entire army die. I bet you loved the bl-infestor era

That's true, DRG did not do a good job at expanding. Should have build massive amounts of static defense at every new expansion right away. Like Jaedong. :D

I feel that way of looking at it is too simple. I believe people don't like it when a player can do literally everything right, but the outcome isn't in their hands.
Asymmetry is cool, but if DRG messes up one engagement he's dead, but when HerO messes up an engagement he just recalls. This would be fair if HerO's army would be harder to use than DRG's, but it isn't, as that is about equal. Recall in general isn't frowned upon, as it opens up tactical possibilities, but in this specific situation it is understandable why it would annoy people. The same goes for FF and Fungal. In many cases they're fair, but in specific situations they can be used in such a way that makes an opponent (nearly) powerless to do anything, and lose the game instantly.

The old recall was cool. You couldn't use it while you have MSC/MS with you

Phoenix voidray tempest is hard to use?
I honestly wouldn't know because I don't often play Protoss, so I wanted to be fair and assume equality in that regard for the sake of the overarching point I was trying to make.

Feels like one of those games when you play so badly as protoss, but somehow your terran opponent just manages to clump against all your storms or does a weird half hearted all in and dies....

BUT SEED! WHAT A BAWS!
Tbh I'm not sure why Bomber didn't go for the army after pulling the boys. There weren't that many storms at that point and if you kill the army the 3rd isn't important. And he could have killed the 3rd without the boys in the first place.

yeah pretty much that, Seed had some terrible misplays right up until he hit some storms and won

Just a clear indication of how nervous he was feeling. SBENU already lost a match last week so people had expectations for this week against MVP. And they go to ace match only if he wins, so he was being precautions. It ended up being his downfall though.. :/

Beat Jin Air 3-1 get 3-1'd by MVP. This round of Proleague might be the closest this year. Every place from 1 to 7 is a hard fight. If KT and CJ win tomorrow there'll be 2 teams at 3-1 and 5 teams at 2-2.

I dunno, I consider SBENU playing superior to any other PL matchup, because I just want to see DRG, Bomber and MMA competing in high-level Korean SC2. The clash of telecoms will probably be 4 to 5 very high quality games, but these are the matchups we get to see all the time.

Maybe Sbenu got cocky there for a bit, but they'll come prepared for CJ after 2 straight. Playoffs tracks may lead up hill, but the hype train will climb to the top!

But... like... Flash and INnoVation haven't played in a televised series since 2013, Dream and Zest have never played a televised game against each other, Classic vs Life rarely happens and Stats and Dark only have played each other once. Not only that, but it has the Telecom wars atmosphere.

That's really funny, because if you don't consider the actual pairing, these are really the top players lately, who naturally play against each other a lot. (Except for Flash, of course.)
Noob question here, but what are the tie breaker rules in PL? I'm asking this because I don't understand why MVP is above Sbenu and Samsung in liquipedia for round 3 ( http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2015_Proleague/Round_3 ). Maybe it's just a wiki error, but if not, why is MVP ahead with worst map difference of the 3 teams because of warnings?
The ranking ishard to do correctly before the end of the round. MVP is ahead of SBENU because of the Head 2 head. However, SBENU hasn't played Samsung yet, therefore SBENU should be ahead of Samsung (maps), MVP should be ahead of SBENU and Samsung should be ahead of MVP (H2H). And that's impossible. :-P
In the good news, I finally found out what song plays at the beginning of the broadcast when they show the Nexon Arena and the teams are standing in formation. So, yay me.
Wooooooo, I have always loved MVP so glad they are doing well. Seems like their protoss core is strengthening, they just need someone else on Gumiho's level to be a pretty top team. Would love to see a solid macro zerg to round out their team, losira always frustrates me cuz he'll just get himself behind playing some weird roach bane style or early burrow and such.

Ah cmon, most of the hype for SBENU is/was there cause SBENU as a company is amazing, not because of the players (at least that's how i saw it) EGTL got hyped cause people expected the players to be far ahead, the hype was completely different

WHAT? I don't care about SBENU as a company much - yes they put a lot of money into esports which is nice, but they make shoes that are completely irrelevant for me. But they got themselves EVERY FUCKING LEGEND ON THE MARKET. It's actually quite similar to EGTL - I get to see my favourite players play in PL, that increases my PL-hype by orders of magnitude.

Difference is that you don't expect Bomber, jjakji and DongRaeGu to go in and dominate SPL, crushing herO, Maru and Life. Most people did expect the EG-TL players to do that, especially Taeja iirc.
edit: Some quotes from the "Unholy Alliance" announcements:
"I expect TL+EG to destroy this league, but I think itll be fun watching =D"
"Stephano, Taeja, HerO, Sea, Zenio are you kidding me? this team looks incredibly scary to say the least."
"Awesome...I hope they can compete reasonably. Though I shouldn't be worried...they have Hero, Taeja, Stephano, JYP, and Puma ."
"I honesty believes that the LiquidGeniuses will do very well against the kespa teams."
But some people knew what was up:
"They are going to get their asses torn apart, but it's nice news."

And in the end only Stephano did decently.
HerO did the best iirc.
HerO did the best in # of wins, Stephano did the best in win rate Take it as you will
